Who is the best contested mark in the AFL, pound-for-pound?

    Harry would have 5kgs on Bartel, max, and Taylor is the best in the league imo so I think it's an easy choice.

    Hawkins - 2.4
    Tippett - 2.3
    Waite - 2.2
    Howe - 2.2
    Franklin - 2.1
    Petrie - 2.0
    Naitanui - 2.0

    the only players to average +2 a game. All forward.

    I think defensive contested marking and offensive contested marking are such completely different skills it should almost be different stats.

    Cloke's the best contested mark from a forward, no doubt.

    Pound for pound, Howe and Rioli are close.

    Defensively, Lake's pretty fucking good.

    Yep, agreed. To me that's more of an intercept but if people want to classify it as contested (statisticians don't) I'm fine with it and we can give the title to Taylor now.

    How do the statisticians define 'contested'? I always presumed if there was contact between two players, that it was.
