Agree with Cribbage, it's a bit of a farce having it in the pre-season and makes it pretty much meaningless.
This is one of the main problems, if they agree to it every year they really should promote it, but I'm sure they will now its in Aus next year
Have you ever been to one?, they are brilliant, especially atmosphere wise and it cleary means something to all the players to be able to win, just a shame they won't play it after the grand final
Don't really see any way around that unless the WCC is played in the same season as the GFs tho. Same principle in association football as well; team wins the domestic title (or finishes top four anyway) and then enters the Champions League next, often with a vastly different squad.
Dunno. I quite like the GFs as being the end of their respective domestic seasons. WCC afterwards would be like ODIs after tests, IMHO. Massive let down.
Ha, fair dos. I kinda like the idea tho, even if the execution is a bit gash. Maybe six teams will improve matters; although when both Super Leagues had that comp where all the teams played each other it was flat out embarrassing for our version. IIRC Bradford qualifed for the QFs with a 0-6 record as they were the 4th best performing English side.
Good old internaational rules again lol I feel sorry for Zak Hardaker he is one hell of a player and nearly got leeds to the grand final on his own, he deserved this match
