The Spamming Punishment Thread

i would like to know what constitues spamming, because i think a majority of the posts in this thread so far could be constituted as spamming, if you are going to do this you need to lay down guidlines first, i cant break a rule that doesnt exist

 

But this thread is an actual conversation.
Whereas Boobidy just going everywhere and posting shit, with the sole purpose of raising his post count is spamming.

A bit of banter is fine however having every thread go to Gemmell > Everyone is just ****ing stupid.

 

Yeah but ive been called up for spamming, and sure i would say there was a post here or there that was short and didnt say much, but they were always as part of a conversation, and added to them imo, i just dont see how i can be punished for something, when i dont know how i have broken a non existent rule

 

Not trying to whinge, i want to make a valid point, and that is that if you are going to dish out punishment you have to have set out rules, and then maybe you can apply retroactivley, but im not sold on that either

 

eds to make sure he answers all these questions in a well considered manner, because i have worked hard to get my post count up, and to keep this place turning over whilst he has been on holiday in turkey

 

tell me rego you might know, whats the difference between spam and a legitamate post, because i dont have a clue it would seem

yeah and Ok can be legit posts in certain contexts (although it is physically impossible to post just Ok), spam needs a better definition then that
