yep the same shit team who will win the spoon. roosters lulz.
Sorry this is not the Sharks thread.
The Zakabump is never wrong :ninja:
I don't know if I like this tbh, Anasta to lock? I know most 'experts' think he is a lock but I think he is going to be a masssssssssssive fail! And then we he does we will have 3 halves, Anasta Carney and Pearce all on big dollars to try and fit into two positions. Then we've got Jones who just signed a new 3 year deal & Liam Foran. Newtown will go well next year.
Play him at lock, fullback, hooker, cheerleader I don't care. Carney ftw.
I care, takes more than 1 player to win a premiership and spending a quarter of your cap on 3 halves is stupid. Just seems like a signing for the sake of making a signing when we need still need some good backs and props.
Have you seen Todd Carney play? The biggest thing we have lacked in the last 5 seasons is creativity. We have had hardly any at all. You are never going to go far in the competiton when you rely on same old boring shit time and time again and luckily last year it worked for us last year but towards the end of the season even then it stopped working. Todd Carney brings an x factor to the club. Some creative organising, someone that is not afraid to take the game by his hands. Sounds very familiar to me like a certain former player who just got the sack as our coach. There is no denying how far a team can go when they have someone like that on form. You don't need to look any further than Parramatta.
The fact of the matter is that Anasta is going to be going to lock. He may fail at it but tbh it is worth the risk. If you actually look back at Anasta's brilliance when playing at 5/8th, most of the time it has been when he has taken on the line and run the ball. There is nothing saying that he cannot do that as a lock. The only thing is that he will be taking less control of the team and focusing more if not mostly on his running game, which could very well turn out to be a positive thing. I would much rather have a combination of Pearce and Carney who can be very deadly and unpredictable as a combo than the same old shit from Pearce and Anasta.
I haven't been watching too many Woosters matches, but I agree with GYR. Anasta and Pearce have about as much creativity as an.....accountant or something. Carney will be a good addition to the side. Dunno if they'd be premiership standard though, probably not yet.
Yeh I get all that and I agree with you 100% I just think the balance of the squad is going to be way out if Anasta doesn't succeed at lock and that's a big if. We still need someone who's going to make a whole heap of tackles with Fitzy gone and with our likely backrow of Mase/Cherrington/Anasta I can't see that happening.
Mehh, was just watching some Carney highlights... got to admit he will be a good addition. Good goalkicker also.
I've drunk beers with his brother Joel (who plays FOGS and Q cup for Tweed Seagulls). He's got the same tatts and when i asked him about it he just brushed it now I know why. Thats a ****ing heavy story.
Yeah I do agree about the Fitzy thing. The biggest thing we will miss from him is his work rate more specifically in defense. The one thing that goes unnoticed a lot of the time is the amount of potential try saving one on one tackles he makes in the middle of the field. There is no doubt that Anasta will have to adjust to having to take on a much higher work rate.
Link to Carney highlights...
Another thing that goes unnoticed are his flops it seems.
2nd one down.
Just came home from the Sheaf, no wonder we never stand a chance. Soli, Pearce, Mason and SKD were there, ****ing drunk off their nut. I walked passed SKD and as we both went to say hey, he ****ing almost stacked it. ****ing drunk ****. I'm sure he is going to have a fun training session tomorrow morning.
I love SKD.
He does do it alot.
Lay off them GYR they're just doing some pre-season mad monday training.
For NSW's sake I hope Carney has a blinder and stays out of trouble. The best five-eighth in the world when on song tbh.
I ****ing despise the Roosters, pray they get the spoon this year and for the next 5.
