Cherry-Evans is so much like Johns aesthetically. The ripping cut-out pass, the controlled low grubber from distance, the taking a hit-up just then. Very reminiscent of the way Johns played.
That comment was about the cross-field bomb. But the grubber dead is the sort of unorthodox stuff Johns used to do. They don't always come off but it's good variety. Grubbering from distance is an underused ploy IMO. The bomb is just so predictable.
