Still, Folkes really isn't that much of a good coach, he's as stubborn as shit and rarely comes up with a decent gameplan. If he went to the Tigers I guarantee people would be calling for his head within two seasons.
Many other Panthers fans do....and Elliott has made more than 1 finals series in the past 12 years...
Elliott has actually coached some gun Raiders teams, and over the past few years has had some poor quality at Penrith, resulting in him missing the 8 and only barely. He should've easily made it last year if not for some shit injuries and bad luck.
It's true luck wasn't favouring him....but the choking might well have been caused by bad coaching.... Panthers are well on track for the 8 though, whereas Tigers are spiraling out, so....
