Nah there was just some real blatant shockers like the Thurston dive, the forward pass before the Cows 2nd try & the SKD obstruction.

    They're just blatant, easy calls.

    Thurston dive?

I assume he means when JWH took him out after a kick early on. Wasn't a big hit by any means, but a fairly clear penalty.

milk/dive call it what you want.

I mean early in the game when JWH tapped him on the shoulder after he kicked.

It sort of never loses his grip though, and that's in slow motion. It was a difficult one to call. I thought they might even penalise him for double movement because he does score in the end after being held up does he not?

And JWH's slap was a penalty.. it was a fucking stupid thing to do, especially the timing. If it wasn't such a weird final shit like that loses you the game. They were well on top then he does that and the Roosters are suddenly doing drop outs and trapped in their own half.. it's happened pretty much every game this year. I swear they spend 70% of every game in their own 30m line. It speaks for their talent what they have achieved despite every stat against them, but they are easily the second dumbest side in the comp.

After that though every single time Guerra was smashing him fairly the commentators were having a cry that it should be a penalty.

Just listened most of the Brandy/Waz call of the game. They are in a different league to Channel 9. Brandy is such a great man.

Yep. As I said the other day, Alexander is one of the very few commentators who I like. He does his best to call shit as he sees it, and usually he's right. Also, he doesn't carry on with a lot of bullshit. Sometimes, but not often. You can't ask for much more than that from a pundit really.

Incidentally, I think the choice to go for goal was absolutely ridiculous. The last thing Easts needed was to be back down their end. 19 minutes to go and all the momentum with the opposition. You gotta set up camp down the other end.

    Ridiculous IMO.

Yeah, I dont mind Brandy, even though he has has never liked Easts since the day we stole Fittler and Gould from Penrith, he can still put that aside and call the game fairly.

    Lockyer and Johns disagree.

I think Taumalolo definitely found his position in the middle as well.

That's not true at all. He actually really likes the Roosters. Especially since Fittler was coach as they are very close friends.

Would help if he passed Year 7 English IMO.

    And?

If I of all people can look past a failing like that, you should be able to.

I definitely agree that they should have gone for the try and was actually ok with it missing as we got the ball back in decent territory but it wasn't completely ridiculous. If you have a chance to take the lead in such a high stakes game then you take it. That and it allows them to regroup.

  17. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

Was the right move. I would have taken the 2.

Nah the penalty shot was a dumb call. Even if you don't factor in that he missed it.

But it was a pretty weird game all round. Horrible defence, brain explosions and really unexplainable reffing at some points. Thought the Lui call was correct, you'd have to think the ball went marginally forward.

  19. Mr Fourex MR Fourex

It was the right call. Cowboys had all the momentum and even though the Roosters were threatening their line, they didn't look to be mounting to too much....

taking the penalty kick was a chance to stop the game, upset the rhythm .... give their forwards a break after being on the back foot since the back end of the first half. Smart move.

Does anybody realise the final score was 31-30? Of course it was the right move. And with the way Maloney was kicking it felt at the time like a guaranteed lead. Any professional team should always go for the penalty and back their defence. Only bottom feeder teams have the opposite attitude.
