    The centres are not better, Gazza will be playing and James is as good as me or Paddy, but he is even better on the wing. But seriously bro if your reaction isn't mostly a reaction to whether you are there or not then I apologise, but I think it was.

    Nah. As your own performance is also dependent on those around you. Focusing on test those positions out where the battle is close.

    Yeah I realise that, but the tight battles are because one player isn't "a lot better" which was the assertion that Marcuss made.

    I am certainly not having a go at your teams, just having a go at marcusses clear self centered view of the game.

    My initial reaction was which is why I accused Heef of trollin'. I thought the first half XV was the starting XV. Then I looked again and there's no way in hell that Veri and Blunder (or Farny IMO) will be left on the bench. The others are a bit closer but I still fancy a lot of the 2nd half XV will be starting.
    The XV I'd run with would be

    Eggy (1st)
    AVA (1st)
    Benny (2nd)
    Heef (1st)
    Veri (2nd)
    Zaka (2nd)
    Callum (both)
    Me (2nd)
    Either half back from (1st)
    Luffers (2nd)
    Farny (2nd)
    Orr (2nd)
    Weaver (1st)
    James (1st)
    Blunder (2nd)

    So 7 from the first and 8 from the second :laugh:

    Would have Me vs Gemmell as closer than Blunder v Logan, Farny vs Schaw, and Veri vs Denton. Arguably so anyway.

    I disagree with all of that, you are all quite clear winners, but the battles in the backs are definitely tighter. And at test lvl you could not carry some one like Boob whereas Denton would not get lost.

    I disagree with benny and Zaka. And James could easily play centre with another winger coming in, although Heef seems to be suggesting that won't be the case which i agree with, I think James is easily the second best winger and the other available centres are probably just as good as him in that position.

    Yeah, I agree that we're all clear winners and I also agree that Denton is a better player than Boob and would handle himself at a higher level better.
    However, I didn't exactly excel in the North vs South series and Boob performed similarly to me in the normal season IIRC. On the other hand, Veri absolutely bossed it everywhere and was the stand out player of the season.
    If you want a numerical representation.
    The difference between 9.5 (Veri) and 8 (Denton) is > difference between 8.5 (Me) and 7.5 (Boob).
    Obviously that's a rather crude way of getting my point across but hopefully it does the job.

    This wasn't about you disagreeing though, it was about you accusing me of only saying the second team looked better in places because of myself which clearly isn't the case if I rate 8 out of the 2nd half players better than their opposite numbers.

    You said a lot better tbh. And sure you might be able to argue otherwise, doesn't mean that it clearly isn't the case. Because I am sure you don't rate 8 out of the second half to be a lot better.

    I pretty much see things as Marcuss did.

    Obvious places up for contention are the 2nd centre spot. Gaz will be the likely selection at 2nd five, but the Centre spot is up for grabs. I'd say Benny is ahead of Dafter by a small, but noticeable margin. Zakaron vs. Chung is a big contest and the Halves are fairly open at the moment. After those contests, probably Boob could get in ahead of Marcuss if he dominates him and it's not impossible to see some changes on the wings - especially if Hutchinson has a good game.

    Also, pretty much the whole bench is up for grabs.

    Whatevs bro. I don't really care, but I call BS tbh. Not that it matters, nor do you need to defend yourself, most people focus mostly on themselves in all the sims. I really didn't expect you to deny it like you have it all seems very defensive to me.

    Well maybe because I don't like some arsehole coming along and misconstruing what I've said and attempting to put words in my mouth. I meant what I said and that's that.

    And hey, as President of reigning back to back champions I'd like to think I take a little more interest in the sim than Joe Average.

    Bro you are only making me think it even more... Your reactions are just way ott. And as CoS i have noticed that I pay more attention of these aspects then my president, Presidents don't even have to pay that much attention unles they are also doing the recruiting or selecting.

    Well he did recruit for us whilst Tart was in fiji, so he does pay attention, but my point was more to do with what was required of him rather then what he actually does. Maybe you need to do more becuase the board members you got for yourself isn't quite as competent as the Vikings board...

    Yeah, Heef and Callum are fully incompetent. Or maybe, as I alluded to, I feel that as President I should take an active interest in the sim, therefore I do.
    Whether I need to or not is a different matter altogether. I could remove all interest from the sim completely and I guarantee you the Spartans would continue to function as they currently do.
