Seasonal Rugby Barbarians

Not sure if this'd be a popular idea.

It would kind of be a rest of the world team to compete in the Provincial Championship.

Yes, Cribb hates ROTW sides, but at least in rugby there is a parallel.

The Barbarians would be made up of players not eligible for GB, NZ or Australia - so actually it'd only be South Africa, Celtic Nations, Asia and France, Samoa and Italy from the PR sign ups.

EDIT: Any Skippos style eligibility shenanigans will be infracted.

    Pros

More games in the Provincial tournament. Means that NZ, GB, Aus all get to play every week during the provincial tournament.

    More players involved

Skippos still unlikely to start for a Barbarians team

    Cons

NZ, GB and Aus will lose all of their eligible Celts & Saffers
Does this weaken GB too much?

    Something like:

    1. Os du Toit
    2. Jonty Rhodes
    3. Ishan Narang
    4. James McDougal
    5. Double Dong
    6. Callum Laing
    7. Michael Chung
    8. Jono Chewie

    9. Cobra Classified/Fourie van der Westhuizen
    10. Chad Dyer

    11. Ali Farhat/Chris Raftery/Girve Swevington
    12. Zohaib Ikram
    13. Paddy Orr
    14. Andrew "to be sure to be sure" James
    15. Ginger Furball

    16. Leumas Himann
    17. Antone Sciappapetre
    18. Soumyanil Das
    19. Hal Teja

I think its a good idea :ninja:

  3. Howe JHF Howe

Must be room for Paddy, surely?

    Swervington over Stunt :p

  4. Furball G Furball

    No room for Faldo?

Looks like an alright team actually.

edit: the Southern and Western Australians would play for Australia :p

Yeah. Missed both of them. Paddy comes in for Cave. Swervington a good shot for a place over Farhat or Raftery too - seems to be more consistent.

  6. HeathDavisSpeed HT Davis

So, how would GB and NZ look without these players?

    1. Os Du Toit - Okoudou Gbagbo

    4. Sam Verigotta (c)

Hmmm. GB looks much weaker on the bench, but the team works overall.

  7. Howe JHF Howe

England would need to dig deep for backs seeing as we don't have Farny or Luffers this year either. Edwards, Nova, Bobrad Smith, come on down

  8. HeathDavisSpeed HT Davis

    Bloody Farny and Luffers.

Do GB have a back up first-five? I guess Eds would have to play there. But if he got injured...

    1. Okoudou Gbagbo
    2. Eddie Morris
    3. David Dafter
    4. Sam Verigotta (c)
    5. Bruce Force
    6. Geraint Martyn

    11. Chris Warrington
    12. Jake Howe
    13. Sam Graham
    14. Jordan Logan
    15. Bobby Blunder

    Substitutes
    16. Jonny Ridd

    18. Michael Edwards
    19. Mathew Kaye
    20. Mathew Mitchell
    21. Simon Nova
    22. Bobrad Smith

The bench isn't so bad. Backup for every position expect the pivots.

    That's a good idea IMO.

  10. Arheiner SIA Yates

NZ comes out of it pretty much unscathed there, if this happens how much of a difference should it make to the matchup?

  11. HeathDavisSpeed HT Davis

If someone could insert an Australian line-up then I'll give you the ratings.

Hmmm. No spare front rower for NZ?

  13. Howe JHF Howe

You've still got Farny in there - it's tough to let go :p

Warrington would have to go on the wing and then Edwards or I would play centre. Very thin on the ground.

True. That's a shame - I definitely see Mariner as more of a centre than winger.

  15. Tartmaster AJ James

    I'd beat them all.

  16. HeathDavisSpeed HT Davis

    Oh, fuck you.

I knew your defection at the time would come back and bite at some point.

    Bloody plastic celts.
