Playing guys for 44 minutes is not a good idea, they were so fucked by the end of the game. If Skippos didn't (somehow) nail both FTs late in the game this would've gone to OT and they'd have gotten rolled for sure imo. Also very lucky that the Polar Bears are stupidly sticking with Das starting at PF. Just bite the bullet and play small ball imo. MVP votes 3 - Brett Hall 2 - Bruce Force 1 - Siege Morgan
Judging from the number of shots would it be fair to say my plan of playing a really low tempo game didn't particularly work Mousey?
Nah, it definitely helped. The Tigers play quickly, so slowing it down while you're on offence helps, but they'll always increase the pace a touch with quick shots. Also you played a balanced game style, which naturally doesn't slow the ball down all that much. Ground and pound (getting the ball into yourself primarily) or extra passes slows it down even further. That said, the tempo was slower than a regular NBA game, so you did a good job.
Yeah, it seemed to work well. I'd think about changing your tactics to extra passes because you've got a good set of ball handlers so it'll help you guys get better looks and play a touch slower. This league's a lot faster than the NBa due to team tactics and my own personal minor slider modifications, so to restrict them to 82 shots and only 4 FT attempts is really impressive. In the NBA you'd probably get 83 shots a game and like 22 FT attempts. You beat them on the rebounds and slowed it down so it really stopped them getting fast break points and stuff (which is where they excel). Having Hall and co play 44 minutes helped you cause too, but it was certainly your effort getting it close rather than their mistakes.
Will definitely try extra passes in the future then, especially when we're playing against the better teams.
Missing one of our starters doesn't help but he's back now and we won... My form is horrid though!!! Must... improve... fast!!!
