RYAN GAYLER TROPHY The expansion team will be: the PARROTS, owned by Howe. This will expand the competition to 8 teams. From there we can either have a straight up 8 team competition or we could split into two conferences of four teams each. I'd love public opinion. System A: Regular 8 team competition. Everyone plays each other once at home and once away for a 14 game regular season. Top four make the playoffs, with 1st playing 4th and 2nd playing 3rd, the same as this season. System B: Two conference system. 4 teams for each conference. You'd play your conference opponents twice at home and twice away as well as the other conference once at home and once away. The season would have 20 games. Top two from each conference play off for the conference championship and then the winners play off for the league title. D-LEAGUE Reserve grade will happen. There will be 4 teams in our reserve grade. They are (feeder team in brackets): - Puppies, run by Youngman - Osprey (Seahawks), run by Hughesy - Cardinals (Colts), run by Mousey - Beards (Moustaches), run by Frizzed Clubs without a feeder team will need to contact another club to team up with. The Puppies are so far without a feeder team, so contact Youngman. Players who start on the bench and/or play less than 24 minutes in first grade are eligible for reserve grade. Reserve games will be before the main games, so go off lineups from the previous round. Oh, and there will be injuries.
Think the D-League system is bad though not gonna lie putting in teams that are clearly associated with one club a place in a 4 team reserve grade system is nothing short of ridiculous, sorry mouse
Explain... how is it ridiculous? It's reserve grade, not another competition where the teams need to be new.
Because it's 4 teams for 8 teams, making three of the teams clearly associated to one team is stupid (sorry to be blunt). You either need to just get 2 teams together and then they decide on what they do with their reserve team or else you make it completely seperate. Seriously you and Hughsey are the presidents of two of the teams... how does that not create a clear conflict of interest if the reserve team is meant to be for 2 clubs...
The team selector was always going to be someone from another club anyway and Hughesy seemed keen to give it a shot, so I'd rather give control to someone I know is reliable when I've already got 1 risky team in the reserves comp. Hughesy has been told that it's for two clubs and he's been told that he's to select it fairly or I'll be changing it up for him. As for myself, I think it's pretty obvious from this season and the way I've run BBallSim so far that for me there is not conflict of interest.
I trust both of you to make the right desicions that isn't the issue at all, of course I trust you... but that doesn't mean there is no conflict of interest. I think you need to have a look at Heefs old reserve system if you are going to have 4 reserve teams for 8 teams and let 2 presidents create a side each and decide on the selector from that. The way it stands in my mind it is a joke.
That's essentially what it is now anyway, but those who have shown interest are being rewarded. Each team will represent two teams, it's just the selector is already decided. BBallSim already needs about a billion reminders to submit lineups, so I'm not going to create teams that I have to worry about lineups for each round. The way you're saying I should do it Hughesy + Mousey Selector: ? My system Hughesy + ? Selector: Hughesy What I'm doing is ensuring I have a selector I think I can depend on seeing as they've shown interest. In the end all 4 teams will represent 2 teams and they'll have a selector, so it won't matter, especially when I'll be monitoring sides for any hint of bias.
