Result Interesting to note the time disparity between the real life and this in both stages. I'd say a lot of it is to do with the fact that I'm using a course made by a mod creator and perhaps he's not got the scaling correct but still, interesting.
For the stages would you prefer I just posted it or if I did some sort of updates i.e. 3-4 per stage just for a little bit extra. It's viable with the whole editing posts back with the results thing as the results aren't spoiled when you opened the page. Obv. will only bother if there's interest in the whole concept but I'm happy to if people are keen.
Yeah I was only planning to do it for important stages. I watch it unfold a bit like those who played fifa '08/09 or whatever would have seen the visual sim unfold - so I can pause it and note if there's something worthwhile occurring. If froomey launches an attack on a flattish/hills stage then perhaps I'd mention it though, that kind of stuff. At one stage I considered doing the full sim and watching it while recording it and posting the actual race but unfortunately I don't have a computer good enough graphics/speed wise to make it worthwhile, I've got to turn all the graphics settings so far down for it to not run at 1.5 fps and even then it's a little ugh. Will look into maybe posting recordings of next season though as I'll have a custom built computer by then, I hope.
These were the results in the real version About 60 of the peleton survived and on the final climb Hesjedal launched a solo attack. The main contenders jumped on while Paolini broke off to win it solo.
By the top of the first climb the break have split in three, the pack are now 5 minutes back. Dropped on that climb - 2 minutes behind: Renshaw, Roy, Bouhanni, Gallopin, Bobridge, Ferrari Bad news for TSC, Froome's completely out of touch, he's lost 6 minutes on that climb - Boeckmans and Demare are with him. Burghardt, Coppel, Szmyd dropped just on the peak and the descent. Szmyd came off on the descent, mind.
Top of the first half of the cat 2 climb (quick descent) and the break have 3 minutes. Peleton down to 100.
Rigoberto Uran attacks with a few ks left on the climb. He's now got 33 seconds on the peleton while he trails the break by 2 mins. LP Nordhaug trying to bridge too, he's 8 seconds behind Uran.
Petacchi the only sprinter who looks to have made it over the climb. Bad news for the GC contenders though; the 15 minute leader due to the day 1 break is still with the pack. As for bunch sprint contenders - only Petacchi remains. Bakelants is in the pack too while Felline and Sutherland are in the break. In good news for HFF, Cunego has joined Nordhaug 33 seconds ahead of the peleton. They trail Uran by 19 seconds
