Instructions are clear for Astana. Paolo Tiralongo must play safe and stay at the front.
Despite not having any team-mate to help him, Paolo Tiralongo (Astana) is trying to reduce the gap with the leaders in front of him.
Several riders have seen an opportunity in the slow pace of the peloton. We have 2 riders trying to create a breakaway. It remains to be seen if S.Sánchez, T.Kangert can agree amongst themselves to make the breakaway work.
The numbers within the peloton continue to be whittled away with many no longer able to follow the pace.
Race update. Numerous riders are attempting attacks to break away from the peloton. Riders prominent in these attempts are : D.Pozzovivo, M.Scarponi
Only 5 kms to go !
Attack by Andrew Talansky (Tout Seul) in the closing kilometres. It's a question of just going for it without looking at what's happening behind !
The gap is starting to take on significant proportions for the breakaway.
Despite not having any team-mate to help him, Arman Kamyshev (Astana) is trying to reduce the gap with the leaders in front of him.
All that's left for him to do is to zip up his jersey and raise his arms. Tom Danielson (Harpsobank) can be proud of this victory.
Veterans know that riding at the head of the group is a good way to avoid surprises. Paolo Tiralongo (Astana) seems to be well aware of that.
    Attack by 2 riders. (S.Sánchez, P.Tiralongo)
    2nd Vincenzo Nibali (Fosters).
    3rd Robert Gesink (Rabobank).
Paolo Tiralongo (Astana) moves out sideways and launches his final sprint !
Arman Kamyshev (Astana) moves out sideways and launches his final sprint !
Instructions are clear for Astana. Arman Kamyshev must play safe and stay at the front.
