Hello and welcome to the Second Seasonal Seahawks award ceremony but the first relating to Basketball Sim. Season 3 we saw the Seahawks join the competition and become on of two dominant teams throughout the season thanks to the likes of Alistair Son, Karwin Rogers and James Hughes. With a few key personnel leaving at the end of the season, this ceremony gives us the opportunity to reflect on the season that was. Before getting too far into the awards, I'll hand it over to Seahawks

    President James Hughes.

"Thank you all for coming tonight and it is great to see you are glammed up ready for a big night. This season has been something special and I have enjoyed being on the roller coaster road from the start to the finish and I hope you have all had as much fun as me. I think it is safe to say, this season has been the most successful season for the Seahawks to date"

"Entering this competition was something that we saw necessary to ensure the Seahawks franchise could continue expanding and developing a strong reputation. This was just the season we needed when cracking into the competition. The likes of Son, Rogers, Hughes, Laing and Fung all made this season a memorable one. Making it to the finals was essential and it was a
remarkable finals series where it came down to the final match. Although the season ended on a slightly sour note, we should all be pleased with the season and not be concerned about losing considering we lost the final game and it was a do-or-die game. I think we will be better placed for next season"

"Finally I just want to mention the fact that with the succesful opening of our website we are now well and truly on our way to greatness. With the appointment of Callum Laing as our Strategic Planning Co-ordinator joining Kelvin Fung and Karwin Rogers as major parts to this clubs administration I believe we can move forward as a club and continue on our way to something special. Thank you, enjoy your night and see you all next season!"

Thank you James. Now it's time to announce the first award recipient of the night.

The first award tonight is the Ironman Award which is for the Seahawk who played the most minutes throughout Season 3. In order to recieve this award you have to have had managed to secure a starting spot early and maintained that position over your opposing number in order to get the most minutes.... and the award goes to:

    James Hughes - 492 (Average of 37.85 mins/game)

Congratulations Hughes, your efforts have been appreciated for the season and having that consistentcy on the court was just what we needed throughout the season. Now we move onto Round 1 of the Player Of The Season (POTS) voting

    Game 1 vs Pandas

    3- Alistair Son
    2- Karwin Rogers
    1- James Hughes

It was the Seahawks first offical game and they came out victorious beating the Pandas by 7 points. In what was a dominant game, Alistair Son picks up the three points after scoring 25 points in what was an impressive performance. To top it off, Son also had 7 rebounds and 7 assists to his name. Karwin Rogers also impressed in this game being the next best player for the Seahawks with daylight a close third. Rogers got the points after scoring 21 points and contributing with 7 rebounds. Hughes narrowly beat Laing for the last point.

The next award to be announced tonight is the Field goal sharp Shooter award - this award goes to the player who had the highest percentage of field goals made. And this award goes to:

    Daniel Green - 65%

Admittedly Green had a lot less shots than a number of other players but he still was good enough to shoot at 65%. Honourable mention to Karwin Rogers with a final percentage of 58%. And now for the second round of voting

    Game 2 vs Hammerheads

    3- Alistair Son
    2- James Hughes
    1- Callum Laing

In what was another win for the Seahawks, it was far from convincing. The Hammerheads were the more polished side and this was shown and two of their players recieved the MVP points ahead of the Seahawks players. Son was once again the Seahawks best player with 23 points and 8 assists. Hughes picks up the two points due to a personal best tally of 18 points and 10 rebounds. Rogers was unlucky to miss out on the one with Laing just getting it due to scoring 1 extra point and contributing 7 more assists.

    Leaderboard after Game 2

    6. Alistair Son
    3. James Hughes
    2. Karwin Rogers
    1. Callum Laing

  3. Fungus K Fung

Moving along and on to another award for tonight. This award is the first of a couple of awards that will have their name changed at the end of the award ceremony to be after the first award recipient as recognition of their work this season. This award is currently known as Three-Point Award and it goes to:

    Callum Laing - 50%

This award will now be renamed the Callum Laing Award for excellence in 3 point shooting Well done Callum, that is quite a nice shooting percentage.

The third round of Seahawks POTS voting went like this:

    Game 3 vs Moustaches

    3- Karwin Rogers
    2- Callum Laing
    1- Alistair Son

In what was the closest game of the regular season, the Seahawks were narrowly defeated for the first time in their Basketball history. Leading most of the way, Lewis Carson ripped the Seahawks to shreds scoring a whopping 37 points. The best of the Seahawks was Karwin Rogers who picks up the three with 21 points, 6 assists and 13 rebounds. Laing gets the two ahead of Son after scoring 19 points and contributing 7 assists. Son gets the third point with 15 points, 8 assists and 5 rebounds. Laing getting the points over Son just with the points being the difference. This game opens up the Seahawks Player Of The Year Award once again evening up the leaderboard.

And continuing to progress tonight, here is the next award, the Game Breaker Award. This award goes to the player who has hit the highest percentage of penalties or has hit a high number of penalties and only missed a few. This comes down to discretion rather than purely statisical based. It is important that these penalties are taken and capitalised on and this is why the Seahawks are rewarding it tonight, the award goes to...

    Kelvin Fung - 88%

The fourth round of voting went as follows:

    Game 4 vs Phantoms

    3- Alistair Son
    2- Callum Laing
    1- Karwin Rogers

The Seahawks were back in the winners circle come Game 4 of their season with a dominant 13 point win over the Phantoms. There was a number of brilliant individual performances and there were a few players that were unlucky to miss out. Son gets the three points for a massive 31 points. Laing gets the two with 15 assists and getting the points for being a team player rather than his 10 points he scored. Rogers gets the one point with 23 points and 14 rebounds.

    Leaderboard after Game 4
    10. Alistair Son
    6. Karwin Rogers
    5. Callum Laing
    3. James Hughes

  8. Hughesy JM Hughes

Another award considered important is the Rebounds award. This went to the player with the highest amount of rebounds at the end of the Seahawks season and this went to

    Karwin Rogers - 205

As a result of such a great effort (99 clear of next best), the Rebounds award will now be renamed to the Karwin Rogers Medallion which rewards excellence in rebounds. A truly great effort especially come finals time where it included a couple of 20+ figures.

And the 5th round of player voting:

    Game 5 vs Hammerheads

    3- Alistair Son
    2- Karwin Rogers
    1- Callum Laing

At the conclusion of Game 5, Son picks up the three with 30 points and 6 rebounds. Karwin Rogers continues to chase his lead with the two points after securing a huge 17 rebounds and also contributing with 15 points. Finally, Laing gets the one point with 16 points and an unexpected 16 assists! This game opens the gap up between third and fourth with Rogers the only realistic hope of chasing down Laing still with two more regular rounds to go.

    Leaderboard after Game 5
    13. Alistair Son
    8. Karwin Rogers
    6. Callum Laing
    3. James Hughes

  9. Hughesy JM Hughes

Looking around the hall tonight, it is quite obvious that us Seahawks enjoy a good time. Alistair Son is looking slightly agitated, obviously keen for the award ceremony to be over so he can take his date tonight back to the hotel room and do nasty things to her, Diggler's mum. There is a bit of tension between Pilgrim and Fung, Fung's obviously still complaining about his minutes and Pilgrim has to put up with it. And Callum Laing is taking his new role at the club seriously spruiking around the hall telling every lady he spots how important he is and how that should give him reason to ask for free wristies.

Moving onto another award now and this award goes to the player with the most assists in the season and it's known as the Team player award. This award goes to:

    Callum Laing - 128

Quite a good effort from Laing who made a lot of assists and was truly a team player. The voting at the conclusion of Game 6 went like this:

    Game 6 vs Pandas

    3- Karwin Rogers
    2- James Hughes
    1- Alistair Son

This game probably wasn't any real indication of where the points should have gone. Rogers deserved the three with a massive 21 rebounds and a solid 15 points. However, Hughes got the two points due to being the highest point scorer with 20 points with 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Son gets the one point but was on reduced minutes due to Season 4 preperation and was for Game 7 as well. Son also gets the points over Laing due to playing 10 less minutes and still matching him in most departments. A good effort

    Leaderboard after Game 6
    14. Alistair Son
    11. Karwin Rogers
    6. Callum Laing
    5. James Hughes

  10. Hughesy JM Hughes

Let's keep this ball rolling and move onto the next award The Bonny and Clyde Award for Excellence in Stealing. Obviously a bit of a joke award name but the meaning is still there. A player who makes a significant amount of steals is helping the team immensely. This award went to:

    Callum Laing - 43

And the player voting went like this:

    Game 7 vs Phantoms

    3- Kelvin Fung
    2- Joshua Ritchie
    1- Callum Laing

In what was a refreshing surprise, two new players featured in the points this round with Fung taking out the three and Ritchie the two. Fung gets the points with a strong 24 points and 5 assists. Ritchie who got extended minutes due to Hughes being fouled out, went way over expectation with 17 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assits. His best game by far and giving himself a very good shot at extended minutes come finals time. Callum Laing just pips Hughes for the final point with 14 assists, a few rebounds and a solid 13 points. Karwin Rogers was disappointing in this round and was almost fouled out as well. He was no where near his best. Alistair Son was given significant rest to prevent player burn-out and give young Luke Tyson a crack. This limited his chances in really doing anything special for the points.

    Leaderboard after Game 7
    14. Alistair Son
    11. Karwin Rogers
    7. Callum Laing
    5. James Hughes
    3. Kelvin Fung
    2. Joshua Ritchie

  11. Fungus K Fung

    Yay I got something.

The final game of the regular season for the Seahawks brings us just that little bit closer to finding out which player has won the big one. We still have a few more novelty awards to hand out though, the next one is the Rahul Dravid Award. This goes to the player who has made the most blocks at the end of the season. This award went to

    Karwin Rogers - 24

Well done Rogers! And the final round of the regular season went as follows:

    Game 8 vs Moustaches

    3- James Hughes
    2- Karwin Rogers
    1- Luke Pilgrim

In what was the final game of the regular season for the Seahawks, they went down in a nailbiting game to the Moustaches. Just the second time, these two clubs had met, the score was once again close setting up a spectacular finals series. James Hughes was the best player in this game scoring 25 points and getting 9 rebounds to his name. Karwin Rogers narrowly pipped Luke Pilgram for the two points with 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Pilgram picks up his first point with 16 points, 5 assists and 8 rebounds. This game really opened up the leaderboard with Alistair Son and Karwin Rogers battling it out in the finals to take away the trophy. Both Hughes and Laing will need to have a massive finals series to have any hope of securing the Player of the Season award.

    Leaderboard after Game 8
    14. Alistair Son
    13. Karwin Rogers
    8. James Hughes
    7. Callum Laing
    3. Kelvin Fung

The awards are starting to come to an end and very soon we will find out just who is the Seahawks Player of the Season. It is evident that it is going to come down to the finals series so let's find out what happened in finals week one.

    Play-offs Game 1 vs Moustaches

    3- Karwin Rogers
    2- James Hughes
    1- Alistair Son

In what was a disappointing opening to the play-offs for the Seahawks, there were still some shinining lights. Rogers was by far the stand-out with Hughes the second best player easily. Rogers has been one of the highlights of the season and has been one of the most consistent throughout the season. His 25 points and 17 rebounds got him over the line in this game earning him the two points. Hughes continues his amazing form leading into the finals picking up the two, would have been a three point performance in most cases but Rogers was that good. Hughes got the points through 23 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Son narrowly pipped Laing for the final point. And with this game we had a new leader leading into the second game of the series, a vital game for the Seahawks.

    Leaderboard after Play-offs Game 1
    15. Karwin Rogers
    14. Alistair Son
    10. James Hughes
    7. Callum Laing
    3. Kelvin Fung
    2. Joshua Ritchie
    1. Luke Pilgrim

There are two more awards to reveal before we reveal the big one. The next one is the award for the most personal fouls. This award is another award which will be renamed after it's first award recipient. Personal fouls isn't exactly a good thing so it should be considered an embarassment rather than an honour. The award for the most personal fouls goes to:

Kelvin Fung - 28 (Average 2.1 per game)

This will know be known as the The Kelvin Fung Trophy. The second round of the Play-offs went as follows

    Play-offs Game 2 vs Moustaches

    3- Karwin Rogers
    2- James Hughes
    1- Allistair Son

In what was basically do-or-die for the Seahawks, the team won for the first time against the Moustaches in what was a landmark game. Funnily enough, the exact same points go to the exact same players as the previous game. Just in this case, the performances were substantially better and Son was unlucky to only get the one point. Rogers gets the three with an immense 22 rebounds and 22 points. Hughes was also unlucky not to get the three points with 29 points and 10 rebounds. And Son defeated Laing for the final point with 22 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists. This game was a close game for points as it was a real team effort and all players should be congradulated on their efforts. with this game tying up the series at 1-1, it certainly opened up the finals series and gave the Seahawks a very good opportunity at winning the Season 3 title. Since the conclusion of the regular season, Rogers is now a clear leader taking over Son with a maximum of three games remaining.

    Leaderboard after Play-offs Game 2
    18. Karwin Rogers
    15. Alistair Son
    12. James Hughes
    7. Callum Laing
    3. Kelvin Fung
    2. Joshua Ritchie
    1. Luke Pilgrim

The final 'novelty' award tonight is the Finals MVP Award and this goes to the player who is considered to be the most valuable player during the finals series. This will be decided using the counts for the finals as well as combining other factors such as improvement. And the finals MVP is

    Karwin Rogers

Claiming yet another award Rogers had a great finals series which included 95 rebounds and 97 points as well as 10 steals and 14 blocks. It was an impressive performance and he definitely deserves the recognition. Rogers will be well in contention for the final award tonight. Speaking of which, here is the Game 3 count.

    Play-offs Game 3 vs Moustaches

    3- Alistair Son
    2- Kelvin Fung
    1- Callum Laing

After coming off a positive win in Game 2 of the finals series, the Seahawks went into this game with lots of optimisim having squared up the series 1-1. Unfortunately they were defeated by 5 in a game which came right down to the wire. It came down to shooting and with Karwin Rogers being fouled out early in the fourth quarter, the Seahawks struggled to stay in the match. While it was disappointing to lose the match, Son picked up the three points with 26 points, 5 points and 5 rebounds. Kelvin Fung picks up his second Player Of The Season points for the competition this time with two points thanks to an impressive 24 points and 8 rebounds. Callum Laing gets another one point mention as a result of 13 assists. Son's three points makes it 18-a-piece between Rogers and Son.

    Leaderboard after Play-offs Game 3
    18. Karwin Rogers
    18. Alistair Son
    12. James Hughes
    8. Callum Laing
    5. Kelvin Fung
    2. Joshua Ritchie
    1. Luke Pilgrim

    Play-offs Game 4 vs Moustaches

    3- James Hughes
    2- Karwin Rogers
    1- Alistair Son

It was do-or-die for the Seahawks and it was vital for the Seahawks to take out the win. After a narrow loss in the previous game the Seahawks came out firing in their last home game of the season and won 127-115. It was a good all-round effort and all three players that picked up the points in this round all deserved three points and would probably have gotten the point in any other game but due to such a quality team performance, it was a hard decision. James Hughes picked up the three with 25 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Rogers once again got 22 rebounds like the previous week and was unlucky not to get the three, he only missed out because Hughes' all-round performance was just a little bit better and Rogers was unable to match Hughes in the assists department. Son picks up the final point with 9 assists, 6 rebounds and a total of 17 points. Fung should count himself unlucky to not get any points with 23 points, his rebounds and assists letting him down. So with just one game left, it was a do-or-die for both clubs. The decider for the Third Season of BasketballSim. The Seahawks looking to make it their first competition win ever while the Moustaches looking to complete their dominance with a series win.

    Leaderboard after Play-offs Game 4

    20. Karwin Rogers
    20. Alistair Son
    15. James Hughes
    8. Callum Laing
    5. Kelvin Fing
    2. Joshua Ritchie
    1. Luke Pilgram

The POTS points is coming to an end and it's going to come down to the wire as to who wins the award. Son needs to pick up at least one more point in the final round. Stay tuned. Before that, it is time to induct our first member into the Seahawks Hall of Fame.
