Jack Holbitt lines up the conversion attempt for the Squids. He breathes in deeply and begins his run up. It was a good contact, but he's misjudged the wind and that misses by a couple of metres.

Deddy Lehmann opts to kick here for the Squids. He's trying to Kick Downfield. He hesitated far too long over the kick and it's been charged down by Jaz Eightyfour.

Fantastic effort by Eightyfour there. He gathered the ball off his own charge down and touches down and indulges in a little bit of end-zone showboating. Great stuff!

TRY TO Punters
Pressure on Luke Popovic to gain the two points for the conversion. He looks up at the posts and then runs at the ball. Great contact. Luke Popovic throws the tee to touch and turns and runs back to the half way line as the ball sails between the posts.
Squids 5 - 15 Punters

 

HALF TIME - Squids 5 - 15 Punters

Decent quality game out there, with the usual shunty suspects letting both sides down. Not too many missed tackles, but the usual reserve grade handling problems.

Zach Poole opts to kick here for the Punters. He's trying to Kick Downfield. He hits this with far too much elevation and it only travels 10 metres, and is gathered by the Squids.

Niranjan Gurupur thinks about the offload. He's already gained 10 metres. Truman Lee is running across to close him down but he manages to offload to Michael Edwards in time.

Michael Edwards puts his head down and wants to drive at the opposition defensive line. Surely he's been held up over the line by Gloury there? But no - the TMO sees the ball down and that's a lifeline for the Squids!
