If Payne keeps playing the way he is, maybe. I thought his performance was one of the worst in a long time.

Two predictable, hospital balls to O'Donnell, both put down. Two simple knock-ons from acting half. He's kicked like 4 times in 4 weeks which certainly ain't helping Thurston.

He's just not helping the props get forward enough either, for mine.

Some of this can be put down to his rib injury but most of it is just form IMO.
If he's struggling with the injury, then yeah, put Watts in.

 

Yeah Paynes been down in form since his return, thats basically one reason I think they should have Watts on the run on side, Watts brings energy into the team, not to mention he is fast as you mentioned.

 

Cant really see Thompson going to shit at this stage, his debut performance while not outstanding, was solid, Id be happy if the Cowboys persisted with him, the first grade experience will benefit him. I think Watts really should be in the run on side.
