If it was deemed that Beale had no effect on the play then yeah maybe, because he never had eyes for the footy but to say SKD did is laughable. Absolute miracle we're in the game let alone in front here. Our two tries have just been pure arse. The first one should have never come off and Ennis should have been taken off the field and shot for putting it on the toe on 3rd tackle on their line when we'd been defending for the better part of the last 10 minutes.
I don't reckon Cecchin could be any less blatant in his hate for us. His chats with Jake Friend every time are hilarious. We'd done well until we started getting caught up in all the niggle, just need to drop the bullshit and start playing again. Cronulla looking really poor in their yardage sets and in attack, not sure if it's because of the conditions or a loss of confidence but they've really refined their game plan. Reminds me a lot of the Sharks of 2015. Townsend, Barba & Bird barely touching the ball in good ball zones. I'd be pushing Jack Bird in closer to the action in the second half.
Yeh Patten is a fucking idiot, puts to bed the ridiculous theory that we need ex-footballers in the bunker because they know the game better. Would love to see a stat on how many sets we've had in the last 40 minutes. Run of 8-2 penalty counts and plenty of errors since our last point.
Cronulla looked a lot better in that second half, still failed to construct tries & opportunites though. Lost count of how many times they had to pull up because the decoy had already gone through the line, would like to see Townsend & Maloney link a bit more.
Barba is very reluctant to pass on the sweeping plays too. I understand the danger of pushing it towards the sidelines but the ball needs to be in Jack's hands.
