Jeremy McGovern is pretty much a weaker version of Harry Taylor. Not incredibly fast but just aerially so fucking good and reads the play so well. Both also great forwards.

I mean where he differs from Harry is perhaps in work rate and 1 v 1 defence but barring that they're so similar. He's a seriously good defender.

 

Yeah McGovern is one of those blokes I'm going to back for a long time (like MacRae) purely because I was on them a long, long time before anyone else was. I got a tip off about four years ago about McGovern from someone in WA. Watched some of his footage and liked it.

Discipline a huge issue - his skinfolds even now are pretty fucking bad and he's pretty unfit but the natural talent is there. Can play forward or back to a high standard too.

Not normally someone who'll defend blokes who are purely pack markers (i.e. liam jones) but McGovern has the knack of being able to come from behind a contest and mark as well as across it which is pretty uncommon. Combine that with an excellent read and it's a recipe for success.

12 goals in 6 games forward playing mainly across half forward/up the ground is awesome. What he's doing in defence is even better. Just such a good loose man/3rd man up. If he keeps this up there's not many KPDs I'd take ahead of him
