Well we made the grand final after losing the first 3 games in 2011, (and were only one win away from the top 4.) We won't lose the first 3 anyway. Much better side this year.
Hence the expression and common understanding that finals footy is a whole other kettle of fish. Anything can happen once you're there. That is irrelevant to our bet. We're talking about consistently being one of the top teams across 6 months of week-to-week footy. That's not easy to do when you're a club that notoriously struggles to win away from home. This is what, McFadden's 3rd year and he's won 7 games away from home out of 21? I don't care how many overrated Kiwi internationals you have, they're a different side when they're not in NZ. Incidentally, it's probably all moot anyway because I too don't think they'll lose 3 straight. But based on the evidence so far (trials and Rd1) they look like a good side on paper, and absolute shit in practice. If it was merely that they were dropping the ball and their attack wasn't clicking then yeah you can put that down to a lack of cohesion and so forth. But it's not simply that. They can't tackle. Still. Pay attention to their defence a little more rather than jerking yourself off to their potential attacking brilliance.
We just need to score more points than opposition. Next you'll be telling me Simon Mannering can't tackle.
