Cribb said to make a thread. So, Cribb - who would be in your top 5 (2 lists for each, one as an 'all time' and another for 'current' if that's okay. Current preferably) players for each role (Bat/WKB/Bat AR/Pure AR/Bowl AR/Bowler)? xo
Current: Batsman: Morgan, Torres, Lewis, Downpipes, Gemmell Batting Allrounders: Flack, Deane, Chewie, Speirs, Popovic Wicket Keepers: Schaw, Fung, O'Neill, Morris, Dempsey Allrounders: Cribb, Dorn, Hughes, Laing, Storer Bowling Allrounders: Weaver, Faithful, Tyson, Orr, Rask Bowlers: Welker, Eggman, Hunt, Funkotron, Davis Cbf thinking all time atm
Surprised I didn't get a gig in the bowling section tbf. aware that because i'm classified as a batsman even 100 wickets at 10 wouldn't qualify me for the bowling section as my role isn't one okay don't steal my thunder
Yeah a lot of teams won't be using one at all this season. We've seen Jacobs decline/get less active and Farny decline/not sign a contract recently which has taken the sting out of them a bit. Rask, Dyer and McDonald are really promising players though. And usually I would've included Clapo but he's been really arse over the offseason and preseason so I'm angry at him.
Well I'm not going to include Farny if he's not even eligible for first grade at the moment. I guess he could get picked for Britain. But Raide is better than him anyway tbh.
If I was just rating the batting allrounders based on batting then Chewie would be #1 probably, but he rarely bowls and when he did bowl regularly - SC cricket - he was gash. Marcuss is a serious bowler at times which makes him a more valuable player.
Deane's ranked 50 places ahead as a bowler, he could make quite a few sides on bowling alone. I suppose it depends on how you define succeeding as a "batting allrounder".
