Really? Compared to prior weeks I thought it was good.... not that it really says anything. lol at their knock on just before half time not being called... irrelevant but one of the worst I've ever seen not called. Told Incey that Anasta would kick it out on the full from the kick off. I'd be surprised if he's still here next year.
Hopefully there's a injury to Gallen or someone so White can fill in. Definitely NSW's best prop on form
Considering this entire post is pretty much wrong how would Carney gunning it prove me wrong in any way whatsoever?
Never said otherwise. Quite the contrary. In fact just yesterday I said I can't believe that he's turned out to be a much better buy than Orford.
Not entirely wrong. I did predict either a tight Roosters win, or a Raiders flogging, the latter of which transpired. I picked the Chooks but for obvious reasons - Wishful thinking, wanting Canberra to lose. The best argument I could mount for them was that they were due. Hehe. You said Carney never played halfback at Canberra. Truth be told Carney playing well tonight wouldn't have changed the fact that that statement was and is utterly untrue, but it would've added to my counter-claim that not only did he play there, but that he actually played well. Hence your fawning over Orford before the season was, as I said at the time, over the top and irrational. I'd take Carney over both Orford and Williams.
Incidentally, I had my two front teeth smashed in half from a high shot. Both are capped though as you can see in the photo I posted of yours truly. P.S. NSW is the mainland's Tasmania.
Typical halfback. ....like a five-eighth I actually do agree with this. Purts! Carney is there you've been reminding me. He lost it on a beer bottle when celebrating the knock out of Steve Price. Yep. Nah. He was shit for a good month or so. Been tremendous since he's been starting though. Carney didn't play halfback at Canberra. He tiehr played in a split halves set up or more as a five-eighth. I'd take Carney over them too. But if I had a gun five-eighth and a good coach I'd take Williams. Williams has a long way to go but he's a gun.
He would now, probably. Now that Orford has been a massive failure and if he finally recognises Carney's ability at halfback.
You're saying I would have taken Orford over Carney just on on field ability. Carney's a mediocre halfback and a brilliant five-eighth.
It was actually a crack about Stuart's nonsensical article rating Pearce as the best halfback in the world which, incidentally, Wilson didn't pick up on at the time. Terrible. Just terrible. That's completely false and I've given evidence. I won't bother digging it up as I, probably like you, cbf. I cited games in which he played both sides of the field, was the dominant kicker and play-maker and was chief organiser in a team with no prominent 5/8th (during Campese's long hiatus.) Split halves, which often wasn't even in place, does not make him a 5/8th. He often played exactly like Thurston does for the Cowboys and there's no doubting he is playing halfback. I'm a long way from being persuaded of this but time will tell.
MF did say it was a freezing night in the nations capital and I could of sworn it was played in Sydney.
