I didn't even advocate Pearce for origin, you just want to take out some of the frustration of those lemons that the Chooks are in the Grand Final.

I unblocked you just for the lead up to the Grand Final to taste the tears and first post in you haven't let me down.

Given the circumstances I was actually more impressed with Mullen's performance than Pearce's in this game anyway. Have them swap jerseys at the start of the game and the Roosters win by more IMO.

Dude, stop making a fool of yourself. This has nothing to do with the Roosters, no matter how much you want to act like it does to overshadow the ridiculous comment you made. It's about Pearce. And I'm not the first to notice it either. Plenty of other members agree. You just get silly when you talk about Pearce. Very silly indeed.

As was I. I thought he had some quiet patches and a few mishits, but he looked remarkably classy at other times. Had the pass, the run, and the kick all firing at different times. Good control too.

    Lolled at Minis GF failings.

Every member is biased towards some players, but Magic towards Pearnice just goes above and beyond anyone else.

Really, I thought his performance was far superior to the other sets of halves advocated for Origin who bowed out this weekend. Is it really that silly?

You made the assumption that I was advocating him for origin but that's just stupidity on your behalf, not mine.

Whatever happened to that young red head halfback who had more ability in one toe than Pearce?

It actually is IMO. And that comes from a long-standing big fan of Pearce as a club level halfback.

Aside from a 40/20 and a linebreak down the right edge of the field Mullen didn't really show anything until the game was already over. His kicking game was solid, his running game whilst in all fairness limited to the opportunities he was presented was an afterthought on every occasion just like it has been all season for him and his passing was way too deep, predictable and slow.

I've always been a pretty big fan of Mullen but I really hate the fact that his running game has been coached out of him by Bennett and I think he's a lesser player for it.

I don't know what you saw on Saturday that made you think he was the superior half but that's the way I saw his performance.

Nah I don't think it's silly for you to say that Pearce played better than Mullen (even though I disagree); I do think it's silly for you to say he was "far superior" though. That's a complete joke. Failing to take account how difficult it is for a half to look good in a side getting absolutely dominated up the middle isn't something I'd usually associate with you but I think it's the case here; either that or you're just completely biased. Pearce and Mullen were both good without being great, given the situations they were put in.

How do you think Pearce would've gone playing for Newcastle on the weekend? Playing in a winning side as a halfback manages to fool casual fans and the media pretty easily but it's not something I ever associated with you.

I actually think Pearce is a better club footballer than Mullen. I'm not even going to say otherwise. He schooled no-one on the weekend though, bar possibly Adam Reynolds.

The dummy half service definitely contributed to that though. That's my biggest worry for next season really, that we won't be able to effectively replace Buderus. Gidley looks the best option but he's likely to break down. Other than that we'll have Waddell, Dobson and possibly Gower. I've also got no idea on what we're going to do for a fullback through Origin or if Boyd gets injured.

I haven't considered Wallace as a good player since 2009.

I didn't say that was silly. I said making a connection between his performance in a prelim and Origin is retarded. Which it is. Incidentally, I agree with EWS that Pearce if he was better (which I don't think he was) would only be marginal.

I never said or implied anything of the sort. God you speak utter shit sometimes. And you have the audacity to criticise others for putting words in your mouth and telling you what you actually meant. The hypocrisy is deafening.

I said no more and no less than what Flack did. I asked the plaintive question, wtf does his performance in a prelim have to do with Origin? Cunt could win the Clive Churchill and I still wouldn't back him to ever dominate an Origin game.

I took that comment from magic purely as giving it to Reynolds rather than an origin comparison and prelim comparison.

  19. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

I don't see how that changes anything. You allude to Origin and you're inviting the sort of responses he's received.

Make the comparison between Pearce and Reynolds, but don't drag Origin into it when your player has been a complete failure at said level. It's absurd.

But yeah that's probably just me sucking on dem lemons. I like how it only applies to me but not Flack or EWS who also responded critically to Magic's post. They're not sucking on lemons by telling Magic his post was rubbish. Just me. :p

Adam Reynolds = 0 in Origin
    Pearce = -12 in Origin

Thus Reynolds is the better Origin player.
