Yea I saw that coming after I posted it. Should just ban myself from posting when tired because I rarely stop to think about the necessity or cuntyness of the post at all.

So a bit like whatever you do whenever you reply to a Magic post then?

Fun fact: Last time I accused Hayne of not trying hard enough was in 2011. That's some real charge I'm leading, I must have spent more than a year underground planning it.

I didn't say Hayne specifically. You just always do it; try to pin everything possible into some weird intangible or claim one team tried harder than the other. It's an illusion at least 90% of the time AFAIC; they're professional sportsmen.

Firstly, I don't reject the notion of a ball playing fullback to subsidise the halves. I simply think it's one of the more overused and overrated strategies currently in employ. Parramatta happens to be one of the few clubs for whom I would recommend it. Secondly, I didn't say he wasn't trying or was lazy. I said disinterested. All the reasons you gave as supposedly incontrovertible proof that he must've given a shit are simply speculations. We have no idea what's going on in the guy's head (personal life) and I'm not about to speculate about that either. All I know is, the guy went missing. And I don't think Stuart would've been happy with his level of involvement.

The striking thing to me is that he touched the ball 3 times fewer in Rd1, yet he was clearly more involved than what he was tonight.

Lol, I've never ever thought a team lost just because they weren't trying hard enough. Yes, I occasionally accuse a team of putting in a lackluster performance. Hey, guess what, it does happen. But I've never pinned everything on it, that's insane. Plz get your facts straight.

The real issue is that you don't believe that players can play with different levels of motivation. Probably because you are a robot.

He struggled for involvement, no doubt. I for one find it highly, highly improbable that it was due to any lack of effort on his part to get involved. I mean he could've queued up to take a few tight hit-ups one off the ruck but that would've been pretty pointless. If anything I'm criticising his play more than you guys are - he had a very average game by his standards. I'm not going to let him off by saying he didn't give a fuck. Either he, or his halves, or (most likely) a mixture of both failed to utilise him properly.

I'm sure Stuart's game-plan would not have been for Hayne to have such little involvement, but in saying that I'm also pretty sure he'd want him to have less involvement than he did last year. Hayne, Sandow and Roberts didn't get the balance right tonight. Do you actually think that when Parra were in the opposition 20, Hayne was just having a beather out the back the whole time? I'm sure he would've been running through trying to get involved off the ball as he always does; he and Sandow just got the new structure and the timing of it off. It's Round 2, new coach, shit happens. I think accusing him of not being interested because he wasn't getting the ball is a bit off; in some ways it's too harsh and in others it's really not harsh enough.

Another player who gets criticised for low involvement unfairly is Michael Jennings. Now I think Jennings is over-rated for other reasons, but FMD he's a centre - if his halves don't give him the ball he's not going to get it in a position where he's actually useful. It's a really weird criticism sometimes.

Speaking of centres who don't get the ball, I'm disappointed that Loko wasn't given any early ball.

How long do we all think it'll take before Loko moves to the second row?

"When Parramatta have two first grade standard centres" probably seems like the most sensible answer but who knows when that'll be. Excluding Loko they have zero available at the moment...

He is massive, have you seen the size of him? HUGE.

We should get Vidot in the backrow, apparently he's one of the biggest humans going around.

Brohman for an NRL recall IMO.

I must say, I'm impressed with the way you come on here and produce exhaustive apologetics for the bloke whilst proclaiming to be more critical of him than what we are. I don't mean that in a nasty way, EWS, but I think you're drawing a long bow with that one. Seems to me you're only critical of him to the extent that you radically disagree with the way Stuart is supposedly using him. Well, that's not real criticism of the bloke.

I don't know what the guy was doing. And it's not even simply that he didn't get involved enough. It's that when he did get involved he didn't seem intent on doing anything with it. It's pretty rare to see Hayne get the ball in second phase against a staggered line and canter across field and get smashed from behind despite having plenty of time to do something.

Yes, but Hayne isn't a centre. He plays both sides of the ruck, though you wouldn't know it based on tonight's effort.

Hayne. Would've touched the ball more. :p

Yeah probably. Mullaney is gun too. Lets make it happen. Then we can pick him there in Origin without being concerned about a lack of experience.

I wanted to gouge my eyes out last night listening to ( except my ears if you get my drift) whoever was commentating this game on the radio. That woman is dumb as fuck and the 2 blokes just shoot her down everytime she opens her gob to suggest something. Why even bother having her as part of the team

    Who got MOTM?

Josh Jackson was everywhere last night. Huge Potential.
Klemmer was strong in the second half as was Tolman. Really stood up.

Williams and Inu lol. Keating wouldn't even make Picton under 6's. I didn't think he could be worse than last week but wow.
