Name a player from any era who is long forgotten from memory. Provide a short biography or anecdote.

    To kick things off:

    James Cook
Full forward who played for Carlton, Bulldogs and Melbourne in the mid to late 1990's. As a Bulldogs supporter the shame in losing to Adelaide in the 1997 Qualifying Final has near eroded my memory of the six goals Cook kicked that day. A very good kick for goal; however struggled to find the ball too often.

    Did not discover Australia.

    David A. Clarke
Son of Geelong champion David E. Clarke, and brother of the guy who could kick the ball about 30m, Tim Clarke, David A. Clarke somehow managed to hit 100 games playing for Geelong, and then briefly Carlton, from 1999-2005. He could find the ball a bit, but he was a terrible kick of the footy, which lead to his trade from a poor team to a worse team. Geelong received David Loats in return. He reached 100 games and finally someone realised he wasn't good enough to be on Carlton's pathetic list and they cut him.

Last year he got himself suspended for 15 weeks (and subsequently deregistered and slapped a lifetime ban) while playing for St. Mary's I believe in the GFL for crouching behind and umpire as he was running back, tripping him. Some lulz were had but not as many as those who saw him reach 100 AFL games.

  8. Mousey AJ Son

    Carl Steinfort
Played 94 games as a tagger for Geelong and Collingwood from 1996 to 2002. Was the butt of many a joke, but was a tryer. Remember him almost keeping his career alive by having a gun finals series with Collingwood in 2002 but was delisted iirc.

    Ryan Fitzgerald

Drafted as #4 for the Swans in 1998. Scored 5 goals in his first game, but due to injuries fell away. Most famous as a B-grade celebrity and finishing 4th in BB 2004.

  15. Noble One RS Yamadera

    Donald Dickie

Wingman for Port Adelaide during the early years of entry to the AFL. Mostly remembered as a cult figure with his Maori heritage and flamboyant hairstyles. His one asset in speed declined rapidly when injuries took hold.

This bloke came to my school in the early 2000's, was one of the teachers nephews. Followed him for like a year after that.

    He's a homosexual too.

    Legit.

  19. jimmy_c8 MC James

I went to the same high school as him, he obviously graduated many years before me. Good footballing family, his brother Pat was a gun and would've played heaps for Richmond but was very injury prone.

  20. morgieb MC Burridge

    Nick Jewell

Played a couple of games for Richmond. Then became an opening batsmen for Victoria.
