U20s - Warriors vs Broncos NSW vs QLD Cups - Panthers vs Northern Pride NRL - Bulldogs vs Souths I like the NSW vs QLD Cup winners idea.
Yeah. Brilliant idea. I've been wanting it for years. I'm a little concerned that the winners of their respective comps will party too hard this week though for winning their grand finals.
Yeh they definitely will but that's just a cultural thing that will change over time once this gets recognised as the real Grand Final. Good news for Qlders considering they haven't had a senior team representing their state play on Grand Final day since 2006 though.
For the sake of the concept, it'd be a good thing if it's a close game or even if Northern Pride win it this year. If the Panthers come out and put 40 or 50 on them it could kill the idea before it gets a chance to find it's feet.
I am extremely confident that Northern Pride would put them to the sword if they take it seriously. I also fear that they'll lose players out of the grand final as it got pretty spiteful. Northern Pride are one of two Cowboys feeder sides so they'll no doubt get dudded in a final in Sydney.
Can't say I know too many in that side but if you've got Ethan Lowe in the front row you must be desperate for props.
Good to see Sam Obst where he belongs. In reserve grade. I'm also surprised to see Joel Riethmuller named on the bench.
Shaun Nona starred today for the Pride. He recently signed for Melbourne so should be watched with interest. Blake Leary recently signed with Manly, also. There's plenty of talent in the Pride side.
Kyle Feldt ended up being a late inclusion in the centres. I actually reckon he's better defensively in the centres by a long way.
Nah, if anything I actually think the Queensland Cup is a better competition. The Penrith team is just complete h4x though; it's a bit of an anomaly.
