    Don't think we can leave Drops out tbh, think in GFs etc. when things are tight they are employed; often in games when teams are struggling to break through the defence within their 22 they're employed to just take the points and get the kickoff again. Think it's a necessity for them to be in there personally.

    Well, you can GAGF. And I mean that in the nicest possible way :p

    Personally, I'm more interested in getting something that works first and foremost, then some statistics and finally some pleasantries. Frankly, this isn't as complicated as being able to weight the play towards the end of the match towards a droppy opportunity, so you're as likely to get it in the 1st play as you are in the last play at the moment. Remember, this is only using Excel and isn't anything that's been programmed as such.

    Yeah, I may do just that, but it'll be added in at the end and maybe only an option in the last play of the game. Something like that might be do-able.

    Anyway, can't make any progress now without having some player stats to experiment with, so over to Crabblet apparently.

    As has been said before - I don't think Handling and Passing should be used for the Defensive side (although, obviously when they're catching a kick or grubber, it is different). Also, don't think that Crash Ball should be used for the Defending side in Open Play. For Open Play Defense, I think Technique, Wide Defense, Stamina and Speed would work. With W Defense obviously being the most important out of the four. Also, on a linebreak, Handling should be involved for the Attacking side. And for the grubber and kick in open play (I assume you've done this, but just checking), the T Kicking should only come from the player actually making the kick.

    I think with the "out of 20 chance ratings", they could be a little different. I'd probably go for something like this. If doing it out of 40 isn't possible then they'd be slightly different, but it'd be good if you could do that because a grubber definately isn't as likely as some of them.

    2/40 chance of Line out to Open Play
    2/40 chance of Line out to Maul
    2/40 chance of Knock On --> Scrum
    4/40 chance of Scrum
    17/40 chance of Ruck
    4/40 chance of Kick in Open Play
    1/40 chance of a grubber kick
    1/40 chance of a Forward pass --> Scrum
    4/40 chance of a Line Break
    1/40 chance of a Line Break leading directly to a try
    2/40 chance of a Penalty (?)

    Thinking about Penalties atm. It's difficult as to whether you decide on what to go for. Maybe use Multiple Ifs to say if Goal Kickers G Kicking Ability is > x, and the penalty is within y metres of the posts, then take shot at goal, if not, kick for touch. Something similar to that?

    Really appreciate the work you're doing Heef. :D

    In terms of a linebreak...and I know this is stirring it a bit and is probably far too complicated to implement, can we not get it so that bigger players (eg. Farny) would have a higher chance of breaking through because he's meant to be ala Tuilagi, big and relatively quick? Just another thought.

    And I'm with Eds on the Goal Kicking, will be a complicated formula but that's the only logical way of doing it.

    I'll have a shuffle around with some of this then. I can make the probability list 40 items long, but really I need to make sure the sim is actually simming first. So, either come up with some player stats yourself or hassle Cribb and we can get this starty parted.
