NSW can certainly win with Pearce. They showed that last year. Pearce is not the problem. The lack of a five-eighth creating something is. NSW just haven't had one and still don't. Sure Carney and Campese are creative players but neither have proved it in Origin.

A creative fullback would be helpful too but Hayne's done very little either in terms of manufacturing opportunities.

so why hasn't thaiday been banned from football yet?

    He plays for Queensland.

Actually the first QLD try came off a correct penalty against Glenn Stewart for holding down Harrison. And I've already said my piece about Jennings's sin binning. Anybody who tries to excuse what he did is a clown. Even he admitted it was a stupid thing to do.

I don't recall Thaiday throwing hay-makers into the back of people's heads.

Carney was definitley overawed. I said the same thing last night, everything he did was just so forced and wooden.

One moment is etched in my mind, in the 2nd half the Blues looked to be building some good 2nd phase on their left side. It was all coming together and looked ominous until Carney got his hands on the pill. He looked to pass then got stage fright, stopped, then did a slow and safe pass to end the movement and the danger was over. When Carney is in the zone he just doesn't do that shit.

The good thing for him, and the Blues is his next game will be better and they don't have a Barrett to crawl back to.

Just hop that Soward doesn't inspire the Dragons to some strong wins I guess, cause you never know with your lot...

    More like 13th man in.

But anyway, he definitely should have been binned for what he did, my annoyance is that he was the only one to get binned.

    Scott instigated it all,
About 8 maroons rushed in against Bird, followed by almost everyone on the field.
Tate ran in and caught Lewis with a swinging arm, then had him in a headlock before he got hit
Pearce was throwing punches at Thaiday.

How is Jennings the only one to get punished?

My bias has prevented me from pointing this out until now, but I actually think Bird started that fight by randomly pushing Scott in the head as he was getting up after the original penalty was blown. Now Bird is the closest thing to a troll you'll ever get on a rugby league field so you could perhaps argue that Scott over-reacted a bit, but I definitely think it all stemmed from Bird.

I've heard so many people say this.

Wtf are you all talking about? Bird pushed Scott for no reason after the penalty was given.

None of them did anything remotely comparable to Jennings's reckless act. I don't have a problem with two blokes standing toe-to-toe throwing punches. Throwing blind punches is a dog act, pure and simple.

Is Scott can't deal with a fucking nudge in an origin game, the cunt needs to put his skirt back on and fuck off.
That was happening all night, both ways, it was Scott's reaction that blew it up.

I'm not saying bird has no blame, but it was mainly Scott.

  12. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

Ah, I don't think Bird being a known troll absolves him.

  13. Tartmaster AJ James

    And Tate?
It's okay to do the exact same thing as long as you hit them with a forearm instead of a fist?

Penalty blown. Bird pushes Scott in the head. Scott throws the ball at Bird's head, neither of which would knock the froth off a cappuccino, Bird then reacts to Scott reaction by fronting up, but Scott's the one who instigated the fight?

    Geez Louise.

  15. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

I reckon Bird's push on Scott was worse than anything Tate did.
I think you must be trolling. No serious person would suggest what Tate did was comparable to Jennings's hay-maker.

Was definitely not as bad, but was the same in as much as

    He came running in
Hit a player from behind (technically I think he hit Lewis from the side but whatever)

Only difference was what he hit him with.

*Multiple beers were consumed both at the time of viewing the incident, and starting this discussion. Therefore I may be wrong, but from memory and the footage they showed before on the game plan, I stand by my comment.

As if Scott wouldn't have had the chance to put one on Bird later in the match.

  18. Cribbage RG Cribb

I didn't really even notice Bird push Scott in the head until I watched the replay this morning, but it was definitely at least as bad as Scott throwing the footy at Bird, especially given what Scott did was only in retaliation.

    - Bird started the original harmless niggle
    - Bird escalated it into a proper fight once Scott niggled back

Scott was not without fault but Bird was definitely the primary instigator of the fight on both levels IMO.

Tate came running in because he saw Lewis come charging in. Tried to stop him and may have made some minor, incidental contact. Nothing in that at all.

    Jennings on the other hand...
