What is a shadow broker? Or Cerberus agent? Or Illusive man? I genuinely have no idea what any of those things are.

    Current Summary

Lynch Athlai: Zorax, Escath, Shri, Stupersteve, Arheiner, Verigoat
    No Lynch: Athlai, Mousey

Location Information: Current bid 1,000Cr from Athlai

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Of course there's a reason to keep cash in reserve - there could be more useful things later on. This only isn't true if location is the only barrier to having a successful night.

If you are have a town visiting role (cop/doc/watch etc), the principal barrier to success is trying to visit the right people. Buying locations might help but it limits you to the people you know the location of, not the people you'd like to visit as the game goes on. On the other hand, if you are mafia, you already know what side most people are on and so selecting location might be the only thing preventing you from killing efficiently.

    So yeah, I think it's a non-town move.

On the other hand, If I were mafia I probably wouldn't do something like this as you don't want to be the one starting a discussion on day 1 when you can often just fly past it.

    Cerberus
is a pro-humanity organization that does anything necessary to make sure humans progress in the galaxy. Ends justify the means kinda guys.

Cerberus Agents are specialists who work for Cerberus and they get whatever resources they need to complete their missions. The Illusive Man(TIM) leads Cerberus.

The Shadow Broker is the galaxy's best information dealer who has stayed hidden really well. Lives in a massive spaceship hidden in a volatile planet which most people avoid. He just trades highly valuable information for money and has agents all over the galaxy. Naturally, resources wouldn't be a problem for this character.

I had a conversation in the Warriors subbie once (Athers was part of these games) where I said that the auctioning of items is generally very town sided as a game mechanic, because after a few days, town make sure that only cleared townies are allowed to get things.

I don't remember if he agreed or not. But the only way to make it useful as a non-town player would be to spend all your money early before town have an idea of who they'd like the items to go to.

Cheers. Doesn't clear much up in my head but it helps.

    Lynch Athlai

I want him to pressure him to further justify his actions. Willing to reconsider.

The Shadow broker likely to be third party?

There a few species in the galaxy who grew to power before us. We are relatively new players in the scene and have a massive chip on our shoulders and eventually get promoted to the table with the big kids. Every species has their own special ops team looking out for them and Cerberus is ours(except ours is more of a banned outfit, and technically terrorists.).

The 4 main species in the game are Asari(long life, blue skin, phat ass and nice tits, secretive, manipulative), Turians(narcissistic bird people, best military tacticians, human haters, ), Salarians(puny lizard people slash genocidal maniacs, brain over brawn) and Humans.

These 4 form the council in galaxy. They are allies and are the strongest in the galaxy. Spectres are specialists who report to these guys directly and are entrusted with the most important missions in the galaxy. Commander Shepard is a spectre(when humans waaaaaaaaa'd to stop treating us like shit to the council. Shepard impressed the pants off everyone as a kick ass spectre by going after a rogue turian spectre and got us accepted in to the council.)

Then there are the Krogans. Your stereotypical warrior species. The headbutt everything. Salarians sterilized them after they threatened to take over the galaxy a long time ago.

The Quarians and the Geth are the other 2 major races. Battlestar Galactica. Quarians are humans and the Geth are Cylons. Simplest way for me to explain.

All of these guys are fighting among themselves and the Reapers come into the picture. Reapers are these huge sentient ships that can control your mind through a process called indoctrination. They end all advanced life on the galaxy every 50000 years and go back far away and come back. Their reasons for doing this are best left unexplained because its retarded as fuck. They are way too powerful and wipe out planets for fun. Shepard has to unite everyone and find a way to defeat the Reapers.

Mass Effect in a nut shell. Probably missing out on a lot. Others feel free to fill in the blanks.

Just to make sure - if we hit the minimum number of lynches needed, will the person we are targetting die? Or does it wait till the Day phase ends?

Just to make sure we dont accidentally kill someone while pressuring them.

I'm definutely suspicious of the bandwagoners, but Athlai has drawn the attention on himself here so should explain himself first. Seems a cert ani-town move.

Also everyone dont forget that Notsure started the bidding and Escath played the 'I'm just bidding to keep this info within the town' card. Both need to be investigated.

And Shri and Hedger are really valuable atm due to their theme knowledge. Please post more guys.

I really need to play Mass Effect at some point

Yeah, the day ends when we hit the minimum number of lynches needed for the day.

  14. zorax ZX Doom

Okay so no more lynches on Athers hahaha

  15. zorax ZX Doom

    Unlynch Athlai

I assume we need something like 18 or so votes to lynch. Heef didn't mention in his post, or at least I skimmed it too quickly.

You are withdrawing your lynch too soon.

  17. Athlai JJD Heads

It's like 16 votes needed, we are fine.

  18. stupersteve03 SJ Cambridge

Citadel folks are unable to lynch though so we can't actually be sure how many.

  19. Speirz DG Speirs

Anyone in the Citadel lockdown doesn't count though, so we don't know what a majority actually is.

Seems like there are a lot of anti-town elements here. For all we know, we may have a huge rush of people who haven't posted yet suddenly jumping the lynch bandwagon.

There are sufficient votes on Athlai to put pressure on him atm, just taking mine off as a precaution.

Q regarding the Citadel guys - they cannot lynch, but that doesn't reduce the number of votes needed to execute does it?
