Last year, 31 from 19 games which makes him the loosest winger to have played 10+ games in 2009, in the NRL.

The bloke has hands like feet.

Since the stats have reared there ugly head, here is one i like.
    Vatuvei 15 games - 17 tries
    Perrett 20 games - 4 tries.

I'll take reliability over try scoring, thanks. He needs to score a lot more - He costs his team more than any other winger, with both errors and shitty defence.

And how many of those "errors" would come from kicks where the Warriors just put it up and hope for the best? I'd say a good chunck of them would be, Vatuvei is probably the most kicked to winger in the NRL when his team is on attack.

Where does Perrett come on your loosest winger list out of interest?

  9. Howsie DP Howell

Yeah, but your're the type of guy that would like a team full of Dallas Johnson's ffs, of course you'd take a winger that scores a try once every five games over one that averages more then one a game.

Take the good with the bad. Still doesn't change the fact that he makes far more errors, most of which are not from attacking bombs.

lol. A wingers job is to score tries..

I haven't made a list. I simply checked Vatuvei against everyone else.

Vatuvei makes 1.66 errors per game. Perrett makes 0.75, which puts him about average.

Inglis is infinitely better on the wing than Vatuvei, hence my picking him there. To call Vatuvei world class is to ignore the fact that innumerable quality wingers, don't actually play there.

It's this sort of stupidity that results in people thinking Brett Morris is the best winger in the world.

Tries matter, sure, but they have far more of a role to play. Given the fact that most tries are scored down the flanks, you'd think their defence and reliability would be quite important.

The fact that Manu makes 1.66 errors a game is far outweighed by the other positives he brings to the side.

  16. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

Well apparently, according to you, his try scoring alone does.

  17. Colesy BL Hornby

    Indeed.

Not to mention his kick returns and general metre making as well.

Hit up the stats for metres made by wingers

Vatuvei averages 121m per game. Perrett 120.7m

Regarding the hard yards, Vatuvei takes hit-ups and Perrett takes acting half runs. Perrett makes far more hard yards. This is evident just by watching the game, to me at least, and it's evident in the stats if you care to look through them. I can't be bothered posting them all.
