    Yeah, true. I don't even know how you'll split people into factions or town and mafia, unless you split it into Stark vs Lannister vs Renly vs Stannis, but how the fuck does that work? Lol.

    On the back of this, maybe have 5 groups since we have 40 fucking players. Those, plus the town. You have the leader of the faction, who has the power to recruit town members, then a subordinate or three with special powers. When a faction recruits players they can be given a special power, but they could also sign up for a two factions and back stab the shit out of people. You can only recruit so much, obv.

    But then what is the town's win conditions? Even if this doesn't work for mafia, I think I've discovered another forum game we can play. >_>

    My ideas for the game setting atm are one of: (with the basic town/mafia being)

    1 - Roberts Rebellion. (Rebels vs Royals), fairly easy and not so complex.

    2 - Game of Thrones. (Starks vs Lannisters), bit harder, adds some complexity to it.

    3 - War of the Four Kings. (Starks/Stannis/Greyjoys vs Lannisters), fairly bloody complex, but the best range of characters and whatnot.

    Might leave it to vote actually. Still plenty of time to decide.

    I was thinking Roberts reign versus plotters.

    Thus Mafia being Cersei and co. in Kings Landing. Town being the council, starks, robert. Maybe give Varish and Litlefinger fairly op third party roles.

    Alternatively, could do after 4 kings. Would mean potential Spoilers but if you could get around that. Give Thoros and Lord Beric 3rd party roles together and they can recruit outlaws like a cult?

    Survivors? With certain potential ailities to use as they please. Maybe could have Yoren who has the ability to save people, if they die/lynched they are recruited to the watch. Maybe could have a couple of wildlings too. If they investigate a crow he joins them.

    Alternatively people could request o join the night's watch i they are lynch targets and lose all powers, but can still vote

    Don't think we need to go to option 3 to get plenty of characters, GoT has heaps.

    I mean even without going into other houses that are allies you can get a good group of established characters.

    For example, Starks & friends in Kings Landing:
    Eddard, Catelyn, Sansa, Arya, Jory, Rodrik, Syrio, Septa mordane

    The main reason I like the Rebellion as the setting is the fact that even Book readers won't gain a huge advantage in knowing what players have certain powers etc etc. And it does a good job in reducing spoilers for anyone as well.

    Still need a win condition for them really. And I'd rather they not be cultist/masons .

    Other significant Kings Landing characters:

    Robert, Cersei, Jamie, Joffrey, Varys, Baelish, Barristan, the Hound,Renly, Beric, Lancel, the Mountain, Ser Illyn, Yoren, Janos, Grand Maester Pycelle (you could add in a Biter or someone as a serial killer)

    Thats up to 22 without creeping out to the Wall, across the sea, the Tullys, the Arryns or even the Tyrells who are all arguably a part of the Kings Landing storyline even if it is ever so indirectly.

    Fair enough. Spoliers is a big issue. The only issue I have with it is the spread of characters is so even... How many mafia would we want in a 40 man game? 8 or 9? Alot of them aren't even bad guys.

    Kingsguard like Arthur Dayne and Barristan Selmy would be on mafia side, too awesome to be left out but clearly not baddies. And then where does the Kingslayer come into it?

    Plotters (Cersei + associates)

    with a decent range of 3rd partyers like Varys

    I reckon we should avoid bringing in the Wall or Danerys at this point, Robb and Bran and stuff might be goers though.

    Bran should be a cop. 3 eyed raven and green dreams and all that.

    Also something should be done about the Wolves. Extra life for Robb and Bran or something? Though I guess that would be too obvious on the writeup

    Also Maester Lewin, Maester Amon and Grand Maester Pycelle as doctors
