Brent Tate - 21 tackles, 1 miss, 5 one-on-ones (Most of any player). Clinical. Chris Lawrence - 4 tackles, 2 misses, 0 one-on-ones. Hack.
Tate was motm, in my biased opinion. Tackled superbly, scored and set up a couple of tries - Very well rounded performance after a rusty opening match.
Agreed, he had a very good game and a great debut. Was better than Civoniceva. Really wish big Pet only re-signed for one year, I like the bloke but I don't think his legs will work much longer. Scott showed that the engine room is in safe hands though.
Both were good but Gallen was definitely a little better, you can't say he didn't deserve it, Tate may have played better but it wasn't by such a margin to really think it was harsh or unfair.
Actually I can say he didn't deserve it, because I thought there were at least two players better than him. I'm not saying he didn't play well. He was good without being brilliant IMO.
I thought that Bird was really strong tonight. Scott also played his way into the side imo. Having said all this, what's the ****ing bet that Sheens the ****ing retard will run with: 8. Shillington 9. Smith 10. Civoniceva 11. Thaiday 12. Lewis 13. Gallen 14. Scott 15. TLL 16. Bird I bet ya he drops Nate.
For QLD's sake, I really hope Hodges gets injured again. Man it was good to see Tate playing well at rep level, again.
Last night's defensive effort was the equivalent to an Inglis or Hodges carve-up in attack - It's a shame defensive players never get the same sort of praise from the commentators or media.
