Mousey, when you gained my role did you learn how many dinos there were? I knew that all along.

  3. Howe JHF Howe

Also what was with Chewie disappearing? Was it an automatic thing of his?

Heef, how was I meant to use my role?

  5. Teacups CJ Evans

He could survive one lynch and that will consequently send him into hiding. Then he can come out when he wants or when he is the only carny left.

  6. Eds E Ames

    Weldone and N11?

  7. HeathDavisSpeed HT Davis

Yeah - he was the Velociraptor and thus ridiculously h4x, but against him he could have been lynched at any point but he couldn't get in the QT or kill anyone until the power had gone out.

However you wanted to. Send messages to people you thought were suspicious or whatever. I was adamant that individual's roles should reflect their persona to some extent; which unfortunately meant a few town roles were a bit naff (AVA as vet could only 'resurrect' dinosaurs - a redundant skill if the vegies don't die, Morgie could only bring down or take up the power.

Lex Murphy – You have advanced computer skills. This allows you to hack into anyone’s e-mail overnight and see any game messages that they have received in that period. You win with the Town once all Carnivorous Dinosaurs and any 3rd Party people have been eliminated.
Ability: Teen Hacker – choose any person to investigate overnight and find out what moderator messages they received overnight.
Tim Murphy - You know a bit about Dinosaurs. You can visit one person every night and you will find out whether they are a ‘Dinosaur’ or a ‘Person’. Alternatively, you have the ability to hide in cupboards. Twice in the game, you can decide to hide in a cupboard which will make you safe from an attack from anyone in the game. You win with the Town once all Carnivorous Dinosaurs and any 3rd Party people have been eliminated.
Ability: Annoying Dinosaur Geek – choose any person to investigate overnight and discover whether they are a Dinosaur or Person.
Dr. Alan Grant – You know Dinosaurs inside and out. You can visit one person every night and you will find out whether they are a ‘Carnivorous Dinosaur’, a ‘Herbivorous Dinosaur’ or a ‘Person’. If you investigate a Dinosaur, you also work out their species. You win with the Town once all Carnivorous Dinosaurs and any 3rd Party people have been eliminated.
Ability: Palaeontologist – choose a person to investigate overnight and discover what type of dinosaur they are or whether they are a person.
Dr. Ellie Sattler – Whilst a paleobotanist by trade, you have learned a thing or two about internal medicine. With these skills, you can visit a player at night and protect them from death in the event of an attack. You win with the Town once all Carnivorous Dinosaurs and any 3rd Party people have been eliminated.
Ability: Amateur Medic – choose a person to visit overnight and you can protect them from all but the most violent of Dinosaur attacks. Due to the amateur nature of your skills, your visit prevents the person you’re visiting from performing any night role.
Dr. Ian Malcolm – A mathematician specialising in Chaos Theory by trade, no one is exactly sure why you’re on the Island in the first place other than to make glib observations about entropy. Your mathematics skills aren’t exactly useful in the survival context either.
Ability: Survivor – Much like in the film, you’re made of robust stuff. You can survive one dinosaur based attack.
John Hammond – You are the owner of Jurassic Park. You are responsible for the park and everything that’s gone wrong here. Your main ability is that once in the game you can use your gravitas to override a Lynch chosen by the town. However, you also have access to the security cameras at Jurassic Park, so overnight you can use these cameras to Watch any individual on Isla Nublar to see who they visit. You win with the Town once all Carnivorous Dinosaurs and any 3rd Party people have been eliminated.
Ability: Security Network – Choose a person to investigate overnight by watching them on Jurassic Park’s extensive network of CCTV cameras in order to see where they go and who they visit.
Robert Muldoon – You are the big game warden of Jurassic Park. Over years and years you have built up incredible outdoor skills and you’re an expert with a rifle. Every night you can choose to perform one of two tasks. You can either TRACK an individual and see who they’ve visited or you can HUNT an individual. If you decide to HUNT an individual, you shoot them dead. You win with the Town once all Carnivorous Dinosaurs and any 3rd Party people have been eliminated.
Abilities: Big Game Hunter – Your expertise enables you to hunt down any other person on Isla Nublar overnight and, if you so wish, shoot them dead.
Expert Tracker – Alternatively, you can choose to utilise your skills to follow another person on Isla Nublar and see where they went.
Dennis Nedry – 3rd Party. You have a big role to play. You can visit once every night. You need to find and collect the DNA of every dinosaur on Isla Nublar. If a dinosaur dies, you can visit its corpse overnight to collect its DNA. If you collect the DNA of five dinosaurs on the Island, you win regardless of the other progress in the game. You score bonus points if you survive as well as collecting the DNA. Collect all seven DNA samples to win with bonus points.
If you are either killed or lynched, the power goes off on the Island on an uncontrolled basis and who knows what might happen then.
Abilities: DNA Seeker – Overnight, visit one other person on Isla Nublar – alive or dead and gather DNA from them.
Careless Hacker – If you die, the power grid goes off for a whole day.
Donald Gennaro – Lawyer. You are a cold, cowardly, mean-spirited bastard. However, you are very interested in self-preservation and are very convinced of your own knowledge and abilities. Your votes are worth two in lynch scenarios. You win with the Town once all Carnivorous Dinosaurs and any 3rd Party people have been eliminated.
Ability: Selfish Lawyer – Your lynch votes count for double
Ray Arnold – You are Jurassic Park’s chief engineer. You can take down the power during any night phase. If the power grid is taken down, then the next day will be anonymous. If the power goes down then you can bring it back up at any time. You win with the Town once all Carnivorous Dinosaurs and any 3rd Party people have been eliminated.
Ability: Controlled Outage – If, for some reason, you think it would be worth taking down the power on Isla Nublar you may do so. This will result in the communication during the power outage becoming anonymous.
Lewis Dodgson – 3rd party – You are a vicious rival of John Hammond. You want to get the Dinosaur DNA for yourself. Your colleague Dennis Nedry is collecting this information for you from the inside, but you have no idea where he is. You can visit a person each night and if you find Nedry you gain the ability to communicate with him via quick topic and help in his mission. You only win if Dennis Nedry succeeds in his mission. Each time you visit someone overnight, you disrupt their work; even if you find Nedry. If Nedry dies, that night you can visit his corpse to collect the DNA he has already gathered to see if you can finish his work.
Abilities: Distraction – Any person that you visit will be distracted by your presence and will be unable to complete their night action.
Gerry Harding – Park Vet – You are the only person with the skills to look after the island’s dinosaurs. Once in the game, you can resurrect any dinosaur that has been killed – either by lynch or killed overnight. You win with the Town once all Carnivorous Dinosaurs and any 3rd Party people have been eliminated.
Ability: The Vet – Resurrect any dinosaur which has been killed.
Dr. Henry Wu – Chief Geneticist
Being in charge of Jurassic Park’s lab puts you as being responsible for the lab’s chemicals and pharmaceuticals. This gives you access to two drugs which you can administer to anyone else on the island.
Abilities: Sedate - You can administer a sedative overnight. This will incapacitate your target for the next day period; precluding them from posting in the day phase
Truth Serum - You can administer truth serum. In practise, this drug is a bit flaky – you have a 50/50 chance of success. The drug acts for only a short time on its target, and it will allow you to confirm whether the target is telling the truth or lying about one statement they have made during the game.
Ed Regis – You are Jurassic Park’s publicist. You’re tasked with putting out marketing material for the new attraction. Obviously, these skills are redundant when under attack by Dinosaurs. However, given your abilities in the publishing realm, you are able to put out a system message to any other player overnight.
Ability: Hello? – Put a system message out to any player.
Manuel de Souza – A random worker on the island. You have no skills or talents whatsoever but by heck do you want to survive. You win with the Town.
Ability: Hide – You don’t have any special skills, but you know the island inside and out. You can hide three nights in the game. Choose wisely!
Triceratops – You’re happy to just get on with what you want to do, wandering around eating leaves. However, you do not take kindly to aggressive visitors. If someone visits and tries to kill you, you will instead kill them. You win if you are left alive at the end of the game, regardless of whether the Carnivorous Dinosaurs or the Town win. You could decide to align with either.
Brachiosaurus – You are a huge lumbering beast. As such, a single attack from a Carnivorous Dinosaur will not be enough to kill you. You need to be attacked twice to die. You just want to live and have a quiet life eating leaves. You win if you are left alive at the end of the game, regardless of whether the Carnivorous Dinosaurs or the Town win. You could decide to align with either. A vicious attack from a Tyrannosaur could take you out in one hit.
Tyrannosaurus Rex – You are the King of the Dinosaurs. You are a murderous, rampaging killing machine. However, you lack smarts. You can visit one person a night and attack them. Twice in the game, you can choose to rip your target to shreds. This will mean their carcass is unrecognisable and as a result, the rest of the Islanders will have no idea who has been killed. You win if Carnivorous Dinosaurs equal or outnumber Town. Only one of Tyrannosaurus Rex, Dilophosaurus and Herrarasaurus can kill each night.

QT rules – Post only as “Tyrannosaurus Rex” – no references to who you are on-forum
Velociraptor – At the start of the game you are locked up in a separate enclosure to the other carnivorous dinosaurs and you cannot talk with them. If the electricity goes off, you escape and are able to kill any one person during any NIGHT AND DAY spell. i.e. you can either kill during the night or during the day (n2/d2 – n3/d3 etc.) You cannot communicate with the other Carnivorous Dinosaurs until you escape the enclosure, but you are protected from overnight death until you escape the enclosure. The town can decide to take you out before you escape the enclosure though, so you can be lynched. You win if Carnivorous Dinosaurs equal or outnumber Town.
If you are not killing overnight, you can instead choose to stalk a member of the island and discover their role. Again, you can only do this if you escape your enclosure.
Dilophosaurus – You are aligned with the Carnivorous Dinosaurs. You have two abilities. If you are sent to kill as the mafia’s night killer, you will poison the person you attack. This will mean that they will not die that night, but will die the following night.
If you do not visit as the killer, you can use your poison to paralyse another person so they cannot post the next day. This will count as a visit for tracking purposes. You win if Carnivorous Dinosaurs equal or outnumber Town. Only one of Tyrannosaurus Rex, Dilophosaurus and Herrarasaurus can kill each night.

QT rules – Post only as “Dilophosaurus” – no references to who you are on-forum
Herrarasaurus – You’re a Carnivorous Dinosaur. You have no special skills, but you can simply kill anyone you visit. You win if Carnivorous Dinosaurs equal or outnumber Town. Only one of Tyrannosaurus Rex, Dilophosaurus and Herrarasaurus can kill each night.

Procompsognathus – You’re a Carnivorous Dinosaur, albeit diminutive in size. Due to your small stature, you are unable to kill on your own. However, you can spy on Townies without being seen and find out what their role is.

Hmmm. Yeah, they should be on the list. Not sure how I buggered that up, but I clearly did.

  9. Teacups CJ Evans

So Goat had a power role and contributed fuck all. Fantastic.

He's the variation of a watcher, right?

  10. Eds E Ames

    Alright. Cheers.

  11. Jabba HJ Bots

Lawyer.

Pretty sure my ability worked twice but heef was never online when it did would have added spice to the game

  12. Riddy JH Ridd

gonna be player ratings or cba?

  13. HeathDavisSpeed HT Davis

Actually, didn't I change your ability? What did the PM I originally sent to you say? Pretty sure I changed it from my original document (from which the description above was quoted).

Player ratings are completely arbitrary, so no.

  14. Jabba HJ Bots

    I had 2 abilities

Once in the game I could change someones vote on me to whoever I wanted
My votes counted twice in lynch scenarios

  15. HeathDavisSpeed HT Davis

Yeah, that's right. I had to delete all my sent PMs so any changes to the initially planned roles have been lost to me.

  16. morgieb MC Burridge

What would've happened if a carny hit a fellow carny?

  17. HeathDavisSpeed HT Davis

The carny would have killed the other carny. But when they had to submit their orders in the QT, I think it would have been easy enough for the targetted carny to suggest someone else to attack.

  18. Chewie JA Chewie

What I found annoying was that if there was for some reason a character claim from everyone, there were no humans that weren't taken, and all the carnivores would have to claim some sort of herbivore and it would be pretty easy to just target them and take them out systematically.

On my first night out of the enclosure I targeted Athlai but luckily I chose the investigate option instead of the kill one. It's quite hard taking random stabs in the dark when I have no idea who my fellow carnivores are lol. Maybe I should've just killed someone though

  19. Howe JHF Howe

What about the carny code? :(
