You know, watching the sneak peak matches on this made me pretty uninterested. But seeing the early alpha stuff with Husky, TB and Day9? Game looks ridiculously fun.
So yet another Dota? I actually see this hero that looks exactly like pudge and has meat hook.. There's a boss that looks exactly like Roshan too.. I like the map layout though, pretty interesting. There don't seem to be items and everyone is levelling up at the same time, so I suppose shit players won't be such a burden to the team. It's probably more newbie friendly in that regard.
Yeah Dota was based on an arcade game created in Warcraft, Pudge is based on an Abomination skin and Stiches is from the Warcraft universe as an Abomination NPC in the story. So the characters looking similar is actually due to the Blizzard universe creating those model types in the first place.
Similar, I know that things like what Arthas does were what he did in Warcraft 3. The Starcraft ones are all similar to in game as well.
Not gonna lie, I thought this game was going to be shit at first glance, but after reading about it a bit and watching a bit of it on twitch, it looks interesting because of its differences to LoL and Dota like no items and everyone leveling at the same time. At least that eliminates a lot of potential raging about being underleveled and not building the right items for your hero.
Yeah, shame I haven't gotten an invite yet either. I assume Blizzard will make it an open beta soon, like Hearthstone, and then way more people will show interest because they can get access to it.
I'm a fan of the daily quests/mini quests for heroes. The locking of talents is moderately annoying but it sort of just makes you spend a little time learning the character and doesn't really detract massively. May prevent you from enjoying a character as much as you may have, but you can still trial any hero with all their abilities in the shop anyway. The queue needs a little something, when you solo queue there is no way you can actually attempt to balance your team at all. Can make the games fairly annoying early on when you have 4-5 squishy guys.
Yeah really enjoying the leveling of characters. Gives me a good reason to choose different peeps in casual. looking forward to draft coming out
I applied for an alpha key AGES ago and still haven't gotten one. I'm really keen to give it a go so I can compare it to DoTA 2 and LoL.
