    You're calling a guy that they promoted from their u20 side on likely the minimum salary a shit buy.

    Not only is he not for the purposes of this a signing, but he's a 20 year old who has 11 tries in 7 games. I haven't watched closely and he by all means might be a terrible player, but put it in perspective. He hasn't to the best of my knowledge lost them any games and surely isn't at the level where's such a liability that a team can target him and score instantly, or any attacking move down his way immediately fails. For a rookie on the minimum he's probably good value. To be considered one of the worst signings of the year, particularly when he wasn't even "signed" for the purposes of this discussion is just outright ridiculous.

    It's ironic that you, Lukic a Tigers fan, care to mention whether he's lost his team any matches. Well, if Moses kicked a field goal that my 8-year-old nephew could've, Vunivalu on his debut, would've lost Melbourne this match.

    And yeah, technically he doesn't fit the criteria. Perhaps I should've stipulated prospectively. If you realise just how inversely disproportionate his ability is with how highly he's rated, I think you'll see why they'll be regretting giving him a contract for and game time in, 2016. He is a perfect example of how people really don't give a shit about how absolutely horrendous a footballer you are, if you score tries. Minimum salary or not, he's a shit buy imo.

    He wasn't promoted from U20's. He was playing QCup for Easts. But yes, he's second tier. Whatever money he's on, it's a lot more than he's worth. Give it time; he'll prove to be a horrible pick-up when they upgrade his contract cause you know...........Fijian superstar.

    I definitely think he's been over-rated by commentators pulling their dicks over his try tally, but I don't think I can agree with this. I think you might be over-compensating a bit for his over-ratedness. I don't think there are that many wingers outside their clubs 25s better than him. If you looked at the other players clubs would call up in similar injury crises I think he'd compare pretty favourably tbh.

    Now it's likely he'll end up in their top 25 next year and possibly be over-paid as a result unless he improves, but that's not what this thread is for, nor is it what you're really arguing other than as a fall back position. I think you're falling victim to something I do a lot in totally over-compensating when you think someone's over-rated, and ending up under-rating them. I'm not saying he's good, but for a 20 year old winger called up from outside the 25 after a spate of outside back injuries, I think he's par for the course at worst.

    lol, I don't think he should have an NRL contract plain and simple, let alone be in the top squad at Melbourne for the last 12 months. I honestly think there are players earning match-to-match payments better than him. I mean despite my contempt for it, this to me is a very interesting experiment that doesn't come along that often. What happens when you throw a bloke who would be awesome in my local Brisbane second division competition on the wing in a top rank NRL side?

    Well pretty much what you'd expect. He's awful at everything except falling over and he even makes that look hard at times. There are shitloads of players outside the top 25 better than him. Joe Bond and Smith Samau, 30-year-old guys I used to see at my local, who would make a better fist of playing on the wing for Melbourne.

    That's how lowly I rate this guy.

He's keeping Tonumaipea, Curtis Scott & Ritchie Kennar out of the side but you know better than Bellamy mate. Third last on the tipping comp must be turning some heads in the coaching circles!

    I'm not even saying he's great; but having him in the top 5 worst buys of the season, over Kurt Mann, when we didn't buy him and had injury crisis in the back line is ridiculous. He's more than excelled. I can't believe I wasted my time writing this up.

    ...and time will tell with Fonua. How's Edrick Lee doing mate?
