Ged is insanely jealous of how the club has been built. When the Rays first came in, they were trying so hard to be the team that everyone loves to hate, but they have turned into a nothing team. They are the Lions but are actually competing on the pitch. And now that the Gamblers have come in and are being hated by all, he is fuming. The Gamblers is the club Ged wish he had the ability to make, but only someone like me has the pulling power to get the talent and gunness to the club. Gamblers will be known as Gamblers EC. Gamblers Elitist Club.
I can see some truth behind this argument. I think the Stingrays have not had the effect Ged wanted but they are still a good unit.
I'm not saying they are terrible. But they have no lure to them. The only clubs with any real lure to them are the Gamblers, Cyclones and Ravens. Ged desperately wanted to have a dominant side, one that people love or hate. He couldn't deliver.
Nah. The Rays were never meant to be a hated team. It turned into that and I ran with it, but when I started it it was always about actually bringing new blokes up through the ranks. That's what we're getting back to now. We will contribute to the cricsim community, unlike the tryhards. Edit. Just to add to this. Our record is already pretty good in bringing juniors up to the top grade. blokes like Farny, shri, Biggie were all in seconds when we signed them. None had really established themselves in firsts. This will only grow over teh next few seasons. Our reserves are the heart of our club and will one day be the ones running it imo. Blokes like ledzep, dougy and stupersteve will all be in firsts before too long imo. The loyalty in this club is not within some of the first squad, but in the fringe players, it's certainly there despite a really shit alc season. Next season we'll probably come mid-ladder thanks to having a good batting side and two top 5 ranked bowlers, but we will be able to build on that for seasons to come as what we have now is a mostly loyal squad, and what is waiting in the wings is quality too.
Way off the money... If anything i'd say the majority of Stingrays members are actually pretty respected (bar a couple obv.) As for the gamblers, people hated most of you guys anyway before you all joined. You've just all gone to one place, which is awesome because i only have to really hate one club now
why would you be guessing that? I just said what the Stingrays initally stood for, and will stand for, and it was nothing like the redbacks.
The Gamblers are so in for a fall. Jsut look at the records of the three that are running them. Jemmell hasn't stayed at one club for more than 2 or 3 seasons. Benny is the main reason the negotiation window changed due to his blatant cheating. And Julian has never been in charge of anything cricsim related. He'll pick good lineups but that will be his job done.
