Hey skippington - thedon5 in the ftp forums tells me that my 16 yo capable batting guy is worth 50-100k. That's about 8-16 times lower than what you've suggested. I don't trust him though. Which doesn't necessarily mean that I trust you either
That was assuming that his secondaries are good. I still think he's worth over 300K. And I'll tell you this - the one person on ftp I'd advise you to trust the least regarding the TM is thedon5. The guy is a bona fide lunatic. No idea about the economics of FTP or the ups/downs of the TM. No idea how to value or price a player either. He's a fucking minder, in short. Nice bloke, no fucking idea about the TM or anything associated with it and acts like he knows it all. I made a massive post abusing his views on the TM the other day too. And who's the one who's got a machine that accurately predicts a players sale price within 10% 95% of the time. Me. And I'd be about that manually as well. If you popped a 300K reserve on him, I'd be very surprised if he didn't get it.
Yes weldone, but cashing in on him now will net you approximately 3 times what it'd net you when he was 20. he's at his all time value peak right now with your academy, and every season his value will almost halve. Put it this way - if you keep him, he'll end up a 'decent' senior player. If you sell him, you could buy 3 decent or one elite senior player with the cash. And some youths to make your youth team competitive if you're worried about that.
There are some real dingbats on there (weldone etc.) but for learning about the game in general it's pretty good.
Went to list Obuya & Odinga with buy price reserves, but are a shandy away from 100 days, so best I wait till sober, then make a decision. Obuya is sex with a bat though, no wai he'd go for under 300k I'd reckon.
I've only got to look back a month on myself to realise how bad I was, and you're probably 2 or 3 months behind that. You will see, in time.
I'm on my way to have the best FTP team among cricsimmers by season 23. And I at least knew that bowling 10 overs straight between 17-35 results in as much fatigue as bowling 5 between 17-25 and then 5 between 37-45 - unlike Skippos who is playing this from 5 years FTR.
Bowling Sexellent bowlers 5 overs between 17-25 and then 5 between 37-45 is about 1000 times better than bowling shithouse bowlers for 10 straight 17-35 though unfortunately.
Obuya has several key deficiencies - no relevant talent - awful fielding for his age (needs to be AT LEAST acc.) - average experience. The latter is the worst. If he had acc-out experience, 300K. With average experience, he shouldn't top 100-150. It's literally a dealbreaker.
I'll be fair you've probably got twice the knowledge I have, but you haven't set yourself up with the team to make it work for you so you're a season or 2 behind.
18 months, actually. I started in June 2011. Me and TKP are probably some of the quickest managers to build a decent team given we signed up around the same time. Normally takes 2 years to get to div 2. minimum in the current game. .... did it in one year
I know that now, but fortunately for me there are (Rusty- 3mths) out there, so I reckon I can get it.
