How many times do you hear a commentator wrap Beau Scott as a great defender and then say nothing when he misses a regulation one-on-one tackle to concede a linebreak in the very same match. It is bad as the "you'll never see that again" call whenever Slater fumbles a bomb. He averages one hopeless miss a game and is garbage when forced to move laterally in defence.
I actually think he's been pretty good for Newcastle this year in a poorly performing side.. but he was terrible in Origin, and no-one can see it. So weird.
It's not just that he hasn't been bagged for being shite, it's the huge wraps he's got for that origin series that baffle me, he was so bad.
There was nothing wrong with him earning a reputation as an enforcer; the issue is that reputations remain past the point where they are valid. People haven't adjusted to the fact that this is 2014, not 2011.
