If Todd Byrne wasn't a ****ing idiot we would have won the 2003 GF.

    They need excuses

Dodging the argument - Wtf? You expect me to rebut Costigan being a "coon"?:scared:

  4. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

    You're a ****ing idiot.

How could anyone possibly, at the time, know the Eels would be runners up?

Oh god forbid a NSW team having to travel interstate for a finals match. Brisbane, Nth QLD, Warriors, Storm and Titans have to do it every year, most of the time in prelims and certainly every year for the GF, should they make it that far.

When the Dragons have to play a GF in Townsville or Brisbane or Auckland, then you can talk.

  5. Colesy BL Hornby

Its more the fact we deserved to play the games at home rather then interstate.

  6. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

You played the Eels at home.

  7. Colesy BL Hornby

Yeah, and then after a loss we should of played Brisbane at home as well.

The fact Brisbane came 6th and beat a muppet team like the Titans and then got to host a Semi final was a farce.

Your argument is based on valuing teams not by where they finish but by subjective analysis - It's impossible to do so in terms of a finals system. Titans were 3rd, Eels were 8th. Dragons played knowing they could lose. Broncos played, knowing they pretty much had to win.

  9. Colesy BL Hornby

Yeah, im doing something where i have NFI what it means..

It shouldnt matter who won or lost in the first week of the finals, the following week, the higher placed team gets home advantage. The fact that the Warriors could come 8th and get a home final the following week should they win is pathetic.

  10. Marto RK Fittaman

AFL system is much better than the McIntyre rubbish.

  11. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

No it's not. 5th plays 8th in a knock out, first bloody week. And if 5th wins, it then has to play either 1st or 4th in another knock out away from home, whilst 6th gets to play 7th then either 2nd or 3rd. It's too reliant on final finishing positions, when they are often determined by F/A.

  12. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

I believe Alec brought up a good point that you decided to ignore.

  13. Stormer BH Borisc

Yeah, I like how you list irrelevant information then make a point which doesn't correspond to what you've said.

  14. Marto RK Fittaman

It's way better. If you finish top 4 you are guarenteed a home semi final with the possible chance of a home prelim (if you win). As you should. Finish top 2, you are guarenteed at least two home finals. As you should. If you finish 5th or 6th you get a home elimination final, as you should.

Too many flaws in the McIntrye system.

The AFL system is much better than it, in fact it's streets ahead.

  15. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

Did you see me listing what he did well as a rebuttal? I didn't offer one. If he were being serious, it's contemptible. The Gallen reference clearly shows it was a jibe.

  16. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

Wtf? What irrelevant information and what point that doesn't correspond?

  17. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

Why do you deserve a home semi if you lose in week one?

4th loses to 1st away from home, 8th beats 5th away from home, and 4th gets rewarded with a home semi against 8th ffs. What is that shit?

There's plenty of flaws in the AFL system, as I just mentioned.

In fact? It's just an opinion.

  18. Marto RK Fittaman

Because they finished in the top 4. The best teams play the best teams to see who is good enough for a home prelim.

4th is playing the best team you clown. No way should 8th get a home final against 4th because 8th beat a much weaker side than what 4th lost too. You need to be rewarded for finishing in the top 4.

The so called flaws that you just mentioned are completely ridiculous. It absolute jabberwocky.

You are so full of it your ears are seeping sewerage.

  19. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

What is this nonsense you keep bringing up about top 4? There is no imaginary line between 4th in 5th. You're drawing it there simply because it's the half way point of the 8.

And in the McIntyre system, you are. You get one straight away. Being rewarded with a home game, against the supposedly weakest team, for losing, is ridiculous.

I haven't heard you respond to why 5th should be knocked out after being beaten by 8th. All of a sudden one game does mean something. The difference between 4th and 5th in this system is enormous. 4th gets a practice match against 1st, which it can afford to lose, and then gets to play at home regardless of the result.

    It's not a fact, moron.

  20. Marto RK Fittaman

The top 4 is the top 4. They are the 4 best teams in the competition after 22 rounds. It makes sense for them to play eachother for a spot in the Prelims, because the prelims are designed for the 4 best teams, with 2 going into the final. It's not rocket surgery lad.

And as I said before the NRL is more even accross the board than the AFL. The class between 1st and 8th in the AFL is much greater than the class between 1st and 8th in the NRL. The fact you can finish top of the table but lose the first week to quality opportunity and then all of a sudden you have to play away from home is ridiculous. You have to reward the teams who finished higher much better than that.

4th gets a practice match? Is that what you call a match that determines who gets an all important home preliminary final? You're an idiot.

5th should get knocked out after losing to 8th because that's an elimination final.

The system is designed to reward the top 4, to give them a better chance of making the prelims, which as I said before is where the 4 best teams playoff to see who gets to the final.

The McIntrye system is well past it's used by date. That's common knowledge.

It is a fact you infant phaenicia sericata.
