Some picks have been absolutely fucking awful.

  2. Lukic L Popovic

hahaha scott dureau come on man. i barely watched any league this past year and my opinion are almost exclusively formed based on what julian and cribb say but thats woeful dude

  3. Julian BJ Taylor

cloughie is a massive ESL fan, so he's seen heaps of him, so has a better opinion of him than us.

  4. cloughie09 TJ Clough

Not exactly many better scrum halves available at this point, had a great season with Catalan as well

So basically what you're saying is your opinions have no credibility? Gotcha.

  6. Lukic L Popovic

low key though dureau was behind tyrone roberts in newcastle

    :ninja:

And Adrian Morley was a 2nd choice prop before he left for the rooster. Lesley Vainikolo got let go because he was injured. Doesn't mean they don't come good

    Shonny made Les look good.

  9. cloughie09 TJ Clough

    Shonny made everyone look good

  10. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

This way of thinking works if said player hasn't played in the NRL. Dureau was barely first grade standard in Australia.

  11. cloughie09 TJ Clough

Guess what, consistent Rugby can sometimes improve a player, who would have thought that actually playing can bring the best out in a player

Can't believe I didn't get to pick Dureau for his junior club

  13. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

He didn't play week in week out in Australia? Guess what, there's a thing called reserve grade, and that's where he spent half his time. He still played every week. Rubbish pick this early in the draft.

  14. cloughie09 TJ Clough

Big step up from reserve grade in aus to super league despite what you may think of it as a league

  15. Benny BS Read

Not really imo different styles though, SL can be more creative but the average state cup forward pack would have it over average SL pack, the line speed and wemrestle are much less developed to which is a large part of why halves from our comp litter the SL imo they get so much more time to work so they excel generally despite struggling over here

  16. cloughie09 TJ Clough

But then they always go back to the nrl , better players, the pack issue is how they get trained like you say, although I do think super league has got a lot better In that area over the last 5/10 years Hense the number of English forwards that will be in ine nrl by next season

  17. Ged GEC King

Super League is legitimately barely above QLD and NSW Cup. Particularly once you get past the couple of top clubs.

  18. cloughie09 TJ Clough

NRL wasn't much better this year, they just have a better feeder system and bigger pool of talent to go from

  19. Mariner CL Warrington

Other SL halves are << Dureau though.

  20. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

Not the point. There are still several halves better than Dureau still available.
Dureau came through the NRL feeder system, and turned out to not be good enough to be a consistent NRL halfback. Now he is going well in the SL. I don't know what argument you're going with here.
