I wish I had the test client to experience the changes now. So keen for the release. Also, TI5 compendiums are being released very soon. I wonder if they'll get close to/surpass last year's prize pool, considering a lot of people were annoyed at how boring TI4 was.

Cent and WK agh upgrade is baws. Techies Stasis is actually usable now which is great. Where the fuck is Pit Lord? Octarian Core in AD with three low cd disables is amazing. Perma disable, bitch.
This patch is pretty cool. I've lost most games I played since 6.84 came out, but it's still better than before, especially for supports.
Tried new patch finally. Painting Goblin Alchemist and Carry Leshrac are both legit. Especially when Alch gives you an 22 minute Aghs to go with Octarine Core/Bloodstone.,
Don't worry, the community will probably drive you off anyway. Comp meta somehow good and awful at the same time, 1 match going to game 3 at Summit and no games going much beyond 35 minutes, most much less. WB group 1 finals Bo3 lasting 35 minutes total gametime...
What are some of the best/easiest heroes to start off with? I was looking at Crystal Maiden, but mainly because she has a nice rack. Maybe Earthshaker?
Earthshaker is easy, but he relies a lot on positioning to be effective (e.g. not blocking your team with fissure stuns). You'll get it with practice. If you wanted to play a carry, Sniper is relatively easy.
CM is difficult to position but easy to play basically but she's hugely position dependant. As for eastiest new player heroes, Wraith King for a carry, Bristleback, Lich, Dragon Knight, Abbadon, stuff like that. Really though anything you like and want to learn you'll pick up if it's not a really complex hero as a new player (Chen, Visage, Meepo, Earth Spirit to name a few)
Sniper is another in the positioning category though, since he can't get caught out in fights due to being immobile as he'll do nothing. It's easy to play basically hard to play sniper well. Earthshaker is also a decent enough hero, mana management is kinda important and using fissure correctly (consider it's a block and not just a stun) the rest is pretty easy.
The beta is out. Bar several bugs which are expected with a beta launch, I have been very impressed with this so far.
Has the core gameplay experience changed at all? Like if a casual player only played one or two games a night would they notice anything different once they are in an actual game?
The core gameplay is pretty much the same, but they have changed the map a bit. To me, it seems bigger.
