He really isn't tbh. Awesome in the Arkham games, but never has a GREAT Batman story beyond that. Always just a Joker-lite. That said the Batman second tier shits all over pretty much any other comic books greatest villains.
I find it extremely unlikely that they will continue this Batman franchise. It's a lot more likely that they'll reboot Batman and aim for a 2020 Justice League film.
It won't be associated with the Nolan franchise. It appears far more likely that the franchise will be rebooted for the 3rd time in 3 decades.
This is definitely Nolan's last Batman film. Thats been known for quite a while, and that would also see his brother stop writing the scripts as well.
Oh yeah - I know that, I wasn't implying that Nolan would be anyway involved in Justice League, more just that he left the ending open enough for Blake to appear in it as the only nod back to this series. Dunno. IMO if Justice League is made in the next few years I would rather that than just some random Batman. The lack of Blake existing in the comics could cause problems, though.
You can't have a Batman film without Bruce Wayne as Batman IMO. Way too risky for something they want to make billions out of. God they love rebooting franchises these days.
You're probably right. Be interesting to see how they do handle Justice League. Avengers was built so brilliantly, would be hard to match and some people from DC/Warner have said they want to keep their films separate. See how Man of Steel turns out. Wasn't enthralled with Green Lantern but MOS looks pretty good.
Green Lantern could very well be rebooted but the likes of Man of Steel and the Wonder Woman film may actually be the precursors to the Justice League film.
Changing the subject, why do you think the chances are of Sony and Marvel Studios/Disney doing a mega deal allowing Spider-Man into The Avengers? I'm thinking zero but was hoping a film guru like you might give me some hope
Hopefully don't have to watch another friggen origin story on Batman. Gonna be hard to do anything that measures up to what's been pretty much the definitive version of Batman in film as well. Also if you didn't have any comic book knowledge you probably wouldn't know who Bane was, he's definitely be less recognisable than any of the other villains listed.
Looking forward to a reboot in the near future. You've gotta love how the studios never try anything new and just keep releasing the same shit over and over. It's fucking great, because you know exactly what you are getting.
