    You on your period?

How does that prove he's in decline? It could just mean he was unluckier this year than others. Also, he's had some pretty injured-interrupted seasons in the past.

If you're referring to me, I'm not assuming anything. I just wouldn't be surprised. Like I wouldn't be surprised if JWH is on gear.

On the whole I think there's a lot more doping going on than what a lot of people I talk to seem to think. Of course, no one's guilty until proven but I think a lot of people have a naive attitude about Australian sport as compared to say the US. I'd bet my bottom dollar we're not as clean as we seem.

I'm referring to a few people but yes you included, to not be surprised requires some level of assumption unless you've got some facts you're holding out on the rest of Australia?

    That's just common sense.

    God you're full of shit.

  6. Mr Fourex MR Fourex

He was recovering a lot quicker from his injuries in the past .....

  7. Magic AJ Parker

Fuck you whinge a lot lately.

Saying you wouldn't be surprised is implying that you believe there's a good chance it's true.

  8. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

I'm not whinging. Just tired of your shit. It's relentless.

I certainly think it's possible. If I say I wouldn't be surprised if it rains tomorrow that doesn't mean I'm assuming it will. The only assumption I need to make is that it's possible it will rain just as I think it's possible for Gallen to be doping.

I'm usually with Magic on these stupid semantic arguments but I'm with MF here.

There's a difference between thinking something is likely and not being surprised if it happens. Likely requires > 50% probability in your own mind, "not surprised" has a much lower threshold.

  10. Mr Fourex MR Fourex

Cribb tackling the big issues......well done.

  11. Magic AJ Parker

The unsurprising event of rain would be based on you previous experiences & knowledge or knowledge gained from the media or other source.

Suggesting you wouldn't be surprised if Gallen is doping with the intent to increase his stamina is a massive leap as it's not been suggested anywhere by ASADA or media and there's been no prior history of such a thing in Rugby League for as long as I've supported the game to suggest that it's rife or event present. So of course it's assumption based, unless like I said you've got some info you're holding back.

It's the type of half arsed conjecture based crap I'd expect to read from a gutter journalist in the Daily Telegraph.

  12. Mr Fourex MR Fourex

Uhmmm.....it has been suggested in the media, social media and on many sporting forums.

Brian Smith even came out in the media playing a riddle game that obviously was pointed at Paul Gallen.

Take that into account Gallen's rise from your average solid toilers, into SOO superstar ........mehh,

someone saying they wouldn't be surprised is a rather magnanimous way of putting it.

I didn't say it was rife. But yes there are precedents at least for recuperative effects on the body, as you well know.

As EWS said, you're making a silly semantic argument.

Conjecture based? An enormous amount of what everyone on this forum posts, including yourself, is conjecture-based. What a silly thing to throw at someone.

Brian Smith obviously bitter still bout letting the best foward of the last 10 year slip through his fingers.

I haven't actually read what he wrote but if Smith was talking about Gallen's transition from 05/06 to 08 and beyond then it might be a valid point. If, however, he's just talking about Gallen's transformation from pus Origin footballer to gun Origin footballer then it's well off the mark I think. Gallen's change in 2010/2011 had nothing to do with physical performance. He was already a big metre-eater with a huge work rate. His downfall was chiefly disciplinary. Psychological, in other words. He threw stupid passes, dropped the ball, and gave away lots of silly penalties.

From what I've read it was a heart-to-heart with Ricky Stuart and a not so flattering appraisal from Ron Massey that turned him and his attitude around. This new dawn was inscribed in his being handed the captaincy.

Gallen has always had absurdly good stamina aggression offloading etc smith is just bitter because he couldn't polish a diamond.

Players just change over time, Corey Payne managed to look first grade standard for more than ten minutes, so I'd believe anything.

Oh that cunt was definitely on something. Was outright Beetson like for a short while. :p

  20. Toolman TR Man

Think Smith said something about him being a skinny kid at Parra and then within a short time after he left the club he was suddenly massive.
