You only "have" to have a spinner if you have a decent one. And given you've got Hughes in that team, it already has a spinner.

Personally I'd pick Ritchie anyway but he's not compulsory because of his player type, particularly within the context of the team you picked.

Yeah, Immanuel and Dover would both make the team on batting alone, for sure, IMO.

 

No, they are just guns. Immanuel averages nearly 50 in First Class cricket and Dover has a Provincial 153 and a remarkable Second Class record (better than yours, which is basically what you're living off at the moment).

Picked them basically on batting alone. Popovic a handy fourth seamer in the first innings and and Son a handy second spinner in the second. Could potentially play you ahead of Son, but I like having two spinners among my five bowlers if I can, and there's not much between you and Mousey as batsmen.

 

Irrelevant in the end anyway as I doubt we'll be seeing a full-strength South Academy any time soon, and you'll more than likely be in New Zealand's PC 15 Skippos, so you won't be eligible.

Yeah it's pretty close. As a general rule I'd pick regular BS players wherever possible to maintain the integrity of the team. Don't see a lot of point in picking you out of reserve grade when there's a batsman from your franchise side getting picked ahead of you (whether or not his part-time pies play a role) at that level.
