    Brett Gemmell

Without a doubt a larger than life character on and off the field. Gemmell has been one of the most dominant batsmen in CricSim history. The thing that has set him apart from many of the other great batsman in CricSim is that he has managed to maintain his high quality as the difficulty of the competition has gone up. Many batsmen who have been dominant at Bannerman Shield (BS) level have not been able to show the same level of dominance at Provincial level.

Gemmell was not someone who took his time to settle into cricket. His début season ranks as probably the best season by any batsman in the BS. Season 2 was a season that was dominated by the ball, a numerous amount of bowlers finished the season averaging under 25 and the majority of the top batsmen only managed to average in the high 30's. The rookie Gemmell broke the trend and scored 822 runs (bare in mind there were only 9 rounds and a Grand Final in those days) at an average of 68.50, his nearest rival A Vago (who had 2 more innings than Gemmell) scored 896 runs at 49.78. Gemmell also added 207 runs in Provincial cricket at an average of 51.75.

After Season 11, Gemmell's First Class statistics were 21093 at an average of 47.08. These statistics are seriously impressive, even after recent seasons where Gemmell has not looked quite the same dominant batsman that he once looked. However, as his Season 10 Provincial performance (1744 runs at 52.85) showed - he still has the quality. There are not many in CricSim that are prepared, yet, to say the great batsman is past it, even though he has failed to average 40 in the past 3 BS seasons. Which is testament to how dominant he has been.

    AFAIK they're not in order.

Callum to confirm where they're meant to be in order or not IMO.

Bedsey definitely shouldn't have been before Wilson no matter which criteria you use, so I assume the first seven are essentially meant to be 'at once' kind of thing.

I'm aware they're not in order, really should've stuck some white text in there.

But they weren't posted "all at once", so Gemmell was the 5th most deserving of his own thread. :p

  18. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

Nah, I woulda been first if it was in order.

Yeah it's not in order. It was pretty much in the order of how I found ease of writing.
