She played in Birmingham & District Premier Cricket too https://bdpcl.play-cricket.com/webs...om=results&result_id=1467197&rule_type_id=179
There was nothing in any of the rules you posted that says re-picking isn't allowed. People have already done that when they've selected already drafted players anyway. If you have the power to veto trades can't you veto picks as well?
i think he secretly really wants to do it tbh. he won't stop adding to cpl until every comp ever made is in that database. we could have cpl womens cricket, cpl under 19s, cpl world club cricket and cpl under 15s. he's such a massive nerd he would love this.
I'd like to propose the motion "In the event of a player picked who does not exist within the existing sim, that draft place will be repicked at the end of the draft round." All those in favour say aye.
I find a crucial difference internally between making an invalid pick and making a pick that just pisses me off and gives me lots of work to do. She's played Tests and ODIs and hadn't been picked earlier so it's a perfectly valid pick that I just have no good way to rate - and you would've known this. I've never considered myself as having this power (or said that I have it), but yeah I've probably had enough of a temper tantrum, you've got Kallis. But FMD this really pissed me off. Possibly unjustly, but all the same.
Ellyse playing CPL Second XI cricket and averaging 0 with the bat and an infinite amount with the ball was the problem I was trying to avoid, so no it doesn't help.
Moving onto the next thing to talk about and never mentioning this again so my immersion doesn't get broken, Prez left Malik as his pick right after he made his previous one, and he lasted right through until one pick before his.
I mean, the line has to be drawn somewhere and not every game of cricket being played at every level counts. Faizan Riaz averaging 10000 in the Devon Premier League doesn't count in working out his standardised average; so Perry's games in other comps shouldn't receive special dispensation. The pick was made within certain parameters and within those it was calculated that she'd average 0 and a billion.
you shouldn't, only cribb would genuinely refuse to do the obvious in this situation haha i think wellington should give amelia kerr a few games. i think leg spin would be the way for a woman to succeed in high level mens cricket based on plunket batsmen against the ish sodhi buffet. that or find the female matt mcewan, some h4x medium pacer who will move it around all over the place at 120kph with unerring accuracy.
Yeah I rationally know I'm over-reacting and should've just laughed it off but it made me really sad and angry. Felt like a spit in the face in a way even though the rational part of me knows you were just having a joke. It was right in the sweet spot of being valid and eligible with a theoretical way of rating her, but with a time period of probably months to actually pull it off in a realistic way, and for no real actual benefit to the rest of database (ie. it wouldn't have been a 'good' pick, and no-one would want to make similar ones other than for memes). Earlier on Baxter picked @Athlai's mum which was obviously not a real pick, but this was a real and technically eligible cricketer. You making the post you did after I tagged you and not just apologising and asking if you could pick Kallis then made it a lot worse too. Really felt like you were trolling me on purpose after you said you wanted to improve the database, which again I realise was probably just a joke, but the whole thing gave a terrible sinking feeling. Having her average literally 0 and playing every seconds game would've broken my immersion, as would the alternative of rewarding you for your h4x pick and treating her Tests and ODIs as.. Tests and ODIs. Letting you repick even though repicks aren't allowed would've seemed less dire to me if you'd done it immediately too. I'm sorry if I dragged you over the coals too much about it though, I know I'm not exactly high on rationality in this saga for whatever reason. I can tell when there's a gap between how I'd see it from the outside and how I'm actually reacting, and this is definitely one of those times. Hope we're all good and you enjoy the season. ❤️
Sarah Taylor is the one I wanted to see have a crack at it because I think wicket keeping standards actually transfer pretty well across genders. She would've batted 8-9 in county cricket but she was a genuinely decent keeper even by men's standards. Too much of a gap for batting and bowling though I think. It's never gonna happen IMO. Doesn't mean women's cricket can't get better and we can't enjoy it as it does, but yeah.
