I never saw Lewis play and don’t remember too much of when Joey was playing. JT definitely gets more unwarranted praise than Locky though. Like all great players are gonna get get some of their flaws ignored while praising their brilliance. But JT takes the cake, their GF win the prime example, he didn’t have a good game, yet won MotM and everyone wanks him off for winning the game. There was a bunch of players who outplayed him and got shit all recognition for getting the game to that point, but kick a FG and suddenly you’re a fucking immortal?
Well, he also was best on ground in the 05 GF and was probably robbed of the CC medal that night so I guess it evens out there. And Thurston would've been made an immortal regardless of that field goal. Thurston gets more unwarranted praise than Lockyer did because Thurston is a better player. Johns was better than Thurston and believe me, he was a golden child like no other. I agree it's bullshit but I don't get why Thurston is the target of your ire. The fact is, and I was talking about this earlier tonight, television commentary, whether Fox or 9, is clearly mandated to gloss over faults and highlight positives. Listen to radio commentary and you'll get a much more honest assessment of players/teams/games etc. That's the real problem imo.
I mean JT isn’t my target as much as the commentary team in regards to JT is. And like I said I don’t remember too much of Johns playing let alone the commentary assessment thereof. No one else gets as much bullshit praise which is why I have the biggest issue in relation to him.
THIS I remember watching a game where he was playing in the English SL, and he passed from dummy half, there were 2 more passes, and they kept going on about how his pass set it all up. Made me sick.

I remember watching Newcastle vs Wests, I think it was. Joey went shortside, threw an obvious forward pass over the sideline and they blamed the winger for not being there to catch it. That sort of shit used to happen all the time. And like you said, he only had to touch the ball in the lead up and they would wax lyrical about how he set up whatever eventuated.
McClean I was happy with his performance but Green again has to address the fact we lose momentum and go forward once our starting trio of Scott, Taumalolo and McClean go off the field. Blew a real opportunity with the mountain of possession we had early in the game. Definitely need Morgan back too real quick.
