    Provincial basketball confirmed
Provincial basketball will be on the agenda after the regular season. The competition will comprise of two groups of four participating in a 3 game round robin series with the highest two in each group moving onto the semi finals. The winners of the semis will play in the final, the losers will play for third place.

The games will be international style games - ie FIBA rules. 4x 10 minute quarters, a slightly shorter 3 point line, etc. Anyone interested in selecting these teams need to apply to me before Sunday. Selectors note than team sizes for your game are limited to 8 players, squad sizes limited to 12.

    Participating teams:
    Asia
    Celtic Provinces
    England
    New South Wales City
    New South Wales Country
    New Zealand
    Queensland
    Victoria

    Season 5 training focus scheme
In Season 5 I will be trialling a training focus scheme. Every 3 rounds, each player will have the option to choose what their "focus" is when they're training between games. Essentially, right now, the activity ranking you get for a 3 round period, right now, is spread equally over your player - you improve all-round; by choosing a focus the rankings increase your player gets will be swayed to favour the style of play you wish to improve - but not all of it. Think of it as though you were actually training, you might sight a weakness in the range of your jumpshot and shoot more threes at practice, but you'll also have to participate in regular practice. Choosing a focus will not make you automatically better at that part of your game, it's like usual, your activity will help it but its not the only factor and you shouldn't be expecting to get awesome because you make 9479272423 posts a day (read: spam doesn't automatically make you good Bakkum and Yates :detective:). This does not impact on the on-court performance factor. If you suck at shooting on the court you'll still go down, if you're dominating as a passer your passing rating will improve even if you chose your focus to be on shooting. It's a training focus - only activity influences this (and activity is in itself merely a cog in the machine). This is just another way you have a personal say in how your player plays.

    The Finals are here!
The Ryan Gayler Trophy is finally up for grabs as the Tigers and Colts battle it out for the Championship starting Sunday night. Get around them, should be a cracking series. The series is a best of 5, so 3 wins will win the championship. Good luck to both teams and all players participating.

    Love, Commish xoxo

I think it'd leave too much control in the hands of the clubs because a lot of players are just here to support their team, so they'll do whatever's asked of them. So it'll probably lead to a bigger gap between the clubs.

Even after an essay about stating how little it will effect players, people still think it's a massive deal.

It is not a massive deal. Team A sending someone to focus on passing instead of shooting like Team B does will not change how good a player he is, the amount of change stays the same. You might be sitting there thinking "shit my player sucks dick at rebounding, I'll choose rebounding" and over time you might see some improvement, you may not. Right now you say "I suck at rebounding, but oh well I can't do anything about it".

Yeah I like it. Good opportunity to learn a little about the sport and to get some activity going.

Will no doubt lead to 'but I trained that and I'm still shit' but oh well.

I'm not that worried about not getting better though. I'm worried about other people being rewarded for stuff. Leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

They're not being rewarded. Like I said, their improvement stays the same, it's just weighted slightly toward one specific area.

I like it Mousey. I look forward to potentially raising my shot % from 35 to 38%!!!!
