Junaid Khan Kyle Abbott Mark Davies Seekkuge Prasanna Andrew McDonald Prasanna the weak link there IMO but quality spinners in this are few and far between. The 3 frontline seamers take poles for fun.
Im not trying to debate them as great picks, im saying they aren't really liabilities. Will be no worse than other teams 4th and 5th best bowlers
Well if you look at them as your 3rd and 4th seamers then Eds has Sadaf and Dhawan, I have Davies and McDonald. Looking past my real dislike of Rankin and man love for McDonald, I don't think I'd swap at all, assuming Ronnie Mac is fit (big assumption tbf). Even if you do want to argue their strong in the roles they play, Morkel and Hopes is hardly an Earth shattering first pairing. I definitely wouldn't swap them for Junaid and Abbott and nor would Eds for Johnson and Magoffin. Ashwin makes both of our sides though, obvs.
My attack is fairly strong and Eds attack is just better than it. Sad times. My squad has better overall depth and my batting is a wee bit better though since I bat to 8. But yeah Eds has the best team at the moment. Marcuss probably up there too.
Could potentially be someone with a better one if they have a Sanga or Amla at 3 and solid openers. But yeah it'll be one of the strongest.
My attack for my first XI will likely be Luke Butterworth Gary Putland Sohail Tanvir Darren Sammy Chris Woakes Ravi Jadeja Shoaib Malik I don't have the quality but I've got quantity covered.
Well i think Eds has the stronger lineup but my surprise was the gap Cribb eluded to Johnson>Morkel=Khan Magoffin=Abbott>>>NCN (He will open the bowling probably) Hopes=Hussain=Davies Rankin>Dhawan=McDonald Ashwin>Narine>Prasanna or if you want to rate the players out of 10 with 10 being current world class Eds: 39 Johnson: 10 Magoffin: 8 Hussain: 7.5 Dhawan: 6 Narine: 7.5 Baxter: 36.5 Khan: 9 Abbott: 8 Davies: 7 McDonald: 6 Prassana: 6.5? Jabba: 37 Morkel: 9 NCN: 6 Hopes: 7 Rankin: 6.5 Ashwin: 8.5 Twist and turn it how you want but I think my attack deserves to be on the same level as yours and the peg below Ed's.
Goat has Compton Elgar Bell Which has no real weak links but obviously isn't incredible. It's probably up there as a lot of teams seem to have a passenger somewhere in the top order. I've got Jaffer, Silk, Williamson. Williamson is quality, Jaffer will comfortably do a job in this but it's probably going to come too soon for Silk. He was a retention (and favourite) pick though. The boy's class.
Mine will be competing for the worst, absolutely noone who dominates their respective competitions just a bunch of guys who do a job domestically. Chopra Quiney Vithanage
Alright, I'll have a crack at Jabba's method. Julian: 47 Luke Butterworth 8 (going on the Magoffin rating) Gary Putland 6 Sohail Tanvir 6 Darren Sammy 6 Chris Woakes 7 Ravi Jadeja 9 Shoaib Malik 5
If you take your best 5 as the main options your attack is pretty darn good. On the level below Ed's aswell, just lacking that one piece like ours
Jump on that all you want. I know you didn't do those ratings but Jadeja should most definitely be rated higher with the ball than Junaid Kahn who got given the same rating. I'd also argue that McDonald shouldn't really be rated as a bowler at all considering he hasn't really bowled in 2/3 years.
