Sharks looked really poor last night, looked like a side still working on how to play with each other. I lost count of how many passes hit the ground. You just don't see that in finals.

I would be concerned with how much cap is tied up in Wade Garham, Dale Finucane & Matt Moylan. All 3 turning 32 next year and all looked a shadow of themselves last night.

Sharks fucking suck. The draw they had for the last 3 months of the season was disgraceful.

Going into Saturday’s game the Panthers full strength side will only have played 1 game together in the last month. Will be interesting to see whether that has a positive or negative effect on their game.

Given the continuity of players over the past couple of years I don’t anticipate it would affect combinations but maybe a little rust and a little off the pace to start? Should mean they come home way stronger though.

Not too disheartened by last night. I think this Cowboys team has real potential in the next few seasons. Parra just wanted it more and props to them.
I think NQ will be better from this season.

Cowboys choked that, they should have won that game. You need a bit of luck to win a premiership and feels like the Cowboys had that this year. Good H&A draw, no key injuries and Sharks then Parra in the finals to make a grand final is a pretty good run.

Don't think they're a better side than Penrith by any stretch but in a one off game you just never know.

I'm with you on the optimism Paddy, I think Cowboys will be a strong side for the next few years but an injury here and there to a couple of crucial players and I reckon you look back on 2022 thinking what if because they really should've shut that game out last night.

I agree they should have but I guess lack of experience for a huge chunk of the team in finals football was going to be a factor.

Deadset all penrith had to do was get Mitch Kenny off the park

Poor old Mansour. He'd probably have had two more gfs if he stayed put.

    Great call

NRL has to be creaming themselves at the rivalry line-up. Bound to be an insane week.

What's everyone's opinion on not sin binning a player for a professional foul when a try is scored. I appreciate it was the correct ruling on Lattrell in the game but the logic has never really tracked for me.

I appreciate in Football they have a double jeopardy rule where if you give away a penalty for a professional foul you also can't be sent off as they don't want to penalise the team twice. That makes sense to me and the logic tracks.

But a try scored through your inability to defend the play or the opposition's ability to attack shouldn't disregard an act of professional foul play.

I want to know how the touchies and referee didn't spot Moses borderline NFL pass the other night. Lol
For the record I do not blame that for NQ losing (had to preface that) either. NQ had the 8 point lead and more than enough chances to close the game out but Drinkwater's error changed the momentum.
I'm still a bit salty at the Sivo try. Inexcusable defence. Waiting for a lucky intercept instead of sliding across to get numbers was fucking reckless.

I do feel that sometimes the sin bin would be preferential, so it is a weird one. However, unless I'm mistaken the try supersedes the penalty when it's scored right (outside of 8-point trys)? Thus, it kind of can't be a professional foul so it'd be weird to call it.

I can only assume the spinning angle of the pass just threw the refs off and they figured it drifted forward. Was a very strange non-call.

If Opacic is fit, surely Parra needs to consider fucking off Blake and play Simonson on the wing.

To my understanding was told they were happy to honour his contract, but that he wouldn't be getting first shot on the wing. They'd just signed Staines on the longer deal so would go with him.

So he left to go to Bunnies to basically play reggies anyway. Staines ended up dropped anyway, and early on they moved Burton to the centres, I could be wrong but I tend to think they would have brought Mansour back in before trying that, or they'd have dropped Momirovski, Crichton centre, Mansour wing.

Then looking at it again this year, in reality they probably let Mansour go, or perhaps he goes ona low contract, given Mom & Burton left. Naden left as well, May now injured, Staines a bit out of favour and being shopped around. May well have had the 'saw on the end of it all now. Instead he's watched his team lose their two biggest games of the last two years from the sidelines against his old club.

I think the outcome should have no result on the penalty, same goes for stuff like dangerous tackles. Just because they scored doesn't change that Latrell committed a professional foul and should be binned for it.

If any of you blokes know a way of me buying a grand final ticket get in touch. Got stitched up on the members and NRL release

You'll probs have to risk Viagogo or a scalper by the look of it.
