He had more than enough time to get back to his wing. By the time the play actually begins, he's gone from a jog to a walk, then a sprint and it's too late. It's just a bit of inexperience on his part. I think Boyd is better positionally, both in attack and defence and he's more reliable on kicks. I also think he's a better finisher too with better leg speed and acceleration.
